On 1st April 2015, Suman Traders purchased a machine for Rs. 30,000 and on 1st October 2015 purchased another machine for Rs. 20,000. In 2016-17, they sold the first machine for Rs. 18,000 and bought another for Rs. 15,000 on 1st October 2016. Depreciation is provided at 20% per year on diminishing balance method. The machinery account and depreciation account are prepared for 2015-16, 2016-17 and 2017-18 showing opening balances, purchases/sales, depreciation and closing balances for each financial year.

Machinery @20% p.a. on the Diminishing Balance Method and financial year closes on 31st March every
