Procter and Gamble, more casually known as P&G, is one of the most prominent
organizations in the world. Their products have easily become household names:
Pampers, Gilette, Tide, Ariel, Downy, Pantene, Head & Shoulders, among
others. In 2014, they amassed a total of $83.1 billion in sales, with more than $10
billion in net earnings. Owing to the success of the company, as well is the
brands they’ve built from ground up, graduates everywhere vie for a chance to
work in this multinational corporation. And even before they get their diplomas
handed to them, undergraduates already talk of starting their careers in P&G.
Of course, it isn’t so easy: P&G hires less than 1% of applicants that come

2. What made you interested in this company?

P&G have one of the countries top products such as in household names. They
have facilities and factories in the country that do well in our field as engineers
specially on their equipments and machines that they are using in their
productions. I could use and practice my profession in their world class facilities
and factories and that will help in my experience in the future. Career possibilities
in P&G are very varied. It is usual to change the position between various
departments during the career and proceed up in the hierarchy. Here there are
many career ways and possibilities. But one is always common: your personal
and professional growth will be always priority for your manager. P&G brings
innovations to their work wether it be an automation, robotization, IoT
implementation or individual mechanical and chemical unit operations.New
technologies development and application is key activity for their engineering
teams. New ideas are actively supported and realized.
3. What career opportunities do they have for your field of specialization?

Career possibilities in P&G are very varied. It is usual to change the position
between various departments during the career and proceed up in the hierarchy.
Here there are many career ways and possibilities. Like in our field of
specialization, they have equipments and machines that we can maintain,
operate or even innovate for further improvement of the production. Also in the
quality of their products, we are responsible in maintaining good quality and
efficient products. P&G are not just a company here in the country but in the
whole world. So there are chance that you can be working abroad also. But one
is always common: your personal and professional growth will be always priority
for your manager. Because they do not fill the empty positions primarily but they

Yes of course. P&G is one of the top companies here in the country and Of

 MANILA ELECTRIC COMPANY (MERALCO)
1. Who is the company? Say something about the company based on your
research.

The P302 billion ($6 billion) Pasig-city based electric producer reported its first
quarter 2017 results in May. Manila Electric Company or Meralco generated
10.6% revenue growth to P66.6 billion compared to the same period a yer earlier
while profits rose 5.9% to P4.8 billion.
As observed, overall costs and expenses increased by 12% in the quarter
compared to a year earlier while other income rose 347% secondary to rise in
foreign exchange gains, net earnings in equity stakes among others. The
company had a 3.24% dividend yield with 0% payout ratio (Reuters). Meralco's
ADR shares, meanwhile, had trailing dividend yield 1.76% with 26% payout ratio
(GuruFocus).
Average 2017 revenue and earnings-per-share estimates indicated forward
multiples of 1.1 times and 16 times. According to filings, Meralco holds a
congressional franchise under the Philippine Republic Act No. 9209 effective
June 2003. The Republic Act grants MERALCO a 25-year franchise valid through
June 28, 2028, to construct, operate and maintain the electric distribution system
in the cities and municipalities of Bulacan, Cavite, Metro Manila and Rizal and
certain cities, municipalities and barangays in the provinces of Batangas,
Laguna, Pampanga and Quezon.

I’ve read that this company is highly trained with professionals specially
engineers. The other services segment is involved principally in electricity-related
services, such as; electro-mechanical engineering, construction, consulting and
related manpower services, e-transaction and bills collection, telecoms services,
rail-related operations and maintenance services, insurance and re-insurance, e-
business development, power distribution management, and energy systems
management and harnessing renewable energy. Engineers there would often
assign me to illustrate certain types of meter using CAD and also update
Meralco's database about the location of different residential homes and
 establishments specifically meralco customers using solar panels. In Meralco you
can practice your profession and do public service. The Company is concerned
win the advancement of your profession. They also provide seminars and in-

Working on power line stringing and re-conductoring, installation of switches on

power cables installing wood ,concrete and steel pole,installation of power
transformer ,power Meter installation 3phase. Engineers there would often assign
me to illustrate certain types of meter using CAD and also update Meralco's
database about the location of different residential homes and establishments

after having revenue decline in recent years. As discussed earlier, higher kWh
and growing customer base definitely helped improved Meralco’s first quarter

are cooperative with me. The hardest part of the job is to finished in exact
date of completion, commissioning and turn overs to the client. The most
 enjoyable part of the job is without complaint with the client and on time
completion. Good company to work for with opportunity for growth and
development in specific fields. Pay is average and technical skill development
can be limited based on the role. Workplace is comfortable and nice,
colleagues are helpful and nice.

competencies and experience to cater specific mechanical equipment. I can
practice my profession in different areas such as Rotary Machinery Section,
Combustion Equipment Section, Static Equipment Section, and System
Equipment Section consisting of Industrial Machinery, Separating
equipment/Mixing equipment/Weighing and Filling
equipment/Conveyor/Crane/Mixer and other solid-handling equipment, and
Packaged Equipment. Each core group ensures quality design and expected
performance of mechanical equipment from its conceptual design through
detailed engineering, procurement and fabrication, construction, field
engineering up to mechanical completion; in some cases where required by
Client including commissioning of the equipment.
