ABSTRACT
The Project Student Counseling Generation is web based application, which deals
exclusively for generating and maintenance of student information.
The project titled “College Student Counseling Web Portal for Colleges” is a web
portal developed for providing online information of student, which is helpful for the students
and parents. This Project is aimed at developing on online Information Management system that
is useful for entire college students and parents. Here students and parents can login at any time
and can be able to view the information of student such as personal information, marks
statements, attendance, achievements and fess dues. This system replaces the old system of
finding the information from the college department.
This system helps students, parents and staff. Administrative staff uploads all the
information of student, information of college, information related to course and information
related to exams. Students and parents can view the information online whenever they want it.
Through this system administrative staff can reduce their work in providing information to each
student and parent.

1.3. EXISTING SYSTEM
The existed system is Manual process. Here all the information activities in the college
are manual. Setting information related to student’s personnel profile, class room timetable
examination timetable details, academic timetable, the entire system is manual. The manual
system is slow and students should move to various departments for information. To save the
time to student and staff and implement the current technology for faster communication we
have designed the project for implanting the concept of virtual communications.

The proposed system is to automation of Manual Communications between college

departments and students in a college.
The effective utilization and integration of information technology resources at colleges

by students and at home by parents increasingly depends on a robust and efficient identity
management strategy. Directory services are a core resource for identity management strategies
and IT Services is committed to delivering a robust and responsive directory infrastructure for
the community.The project is a portal developed for maintenance of a college.
This Project is aimed at developing on a Information Management system that is useful

for entire college students and staff. In the project staff maintenance of students Information and
can get all types of consolidated reports.

Communication Module
The project is an Online Internet application used by various users in different areas for faster
enquiries between users, they again should depend upon an external mail, instead of an external
mail the project provides an Internal mail between the users of application. This communication
module provides mail communication between the users. The following are the activities of the
module.
 Inbox - Provides Inbox to view the list of mails received to user.

 Compose - Provides compose of new mail and sending to other users.
 Replay - Provides response to the list of users who are sending the mails.
 Delete - Provides removal of unwanted messages.
