Introduction

Webinars make for a very flexible learning experience; with increased interaction,

students can achieve improved understanding of the contents of the webinar. This helps students

broaden their skills, as well as their understanding of their field of interest. This also allows fresh

graduates to attain new knowledge and skills that can supplement or complement their main field

of study. With this webinar, you may come up with a new way to handle things or a new idea

that you never considered before. A webinar to help you develop new skills that can help you get

ahead. You’ll find that this aren’t just important to your graduate experience it can make a

positive impact on your career. You should take full advantage of the opportunity to learn about

each topic or subject to further your education and your career.

Additionally, this is just a proof that learning is adjustable and can be apply in various

ways. There is no excuse for a person who is willing to learn regardless of situation and

difficulties. As we connect this to the program, webinar serves as an instrument to expand our

knowledge by using our gadgets digital media to transfer information and learn from it. During

this pandemic, it was hard to get a job for we have to attend to the strict protocols given by the

government, this is a must-to-do as a precaution. As we face the new normal, webinars should be

consider our best friend for it will impart us valuable knowledge that we can use later on as we

continue our living in the midst of pandemic. This activity will touch many lives not only for the

participants but also for the student organizers itself. This will served us our stepping-stone as we

continue to walk on the path heading to the success that we are dreaming of.

Problem Statement

One of the most precious moments of our life is to finish our studies and get our chosen

degree. At this time the first thing that comes in the minds of graduating students is to find a

suitable job for them in which they can use to enhance the knowledge that they have learned in

their college life. Aside from that, we are studying not only to impart knowledge in ourselves but

also to make money for the living and have a better life in the future. This is not easy for our

graduating students to find a job especially if they are just a newly graduate students and have no

experience yet. There are a lot of factors which we consider as a problem that affects our

graduating students that we are facing currently:

COVID-19 Pandemic

It was March, 2020 when the government of the Philippines under President Rodrigo

Duterte imposed an enhance community quarantine (ECQ) in Luzon, which is effectively a total

lockdown in response to the COVID-19 Pandemic in the Philippines. Additional restrictions

mandated the temporary closure of non-essential shops and businesses including the temporary

“no-transportation policy.” We know that this pandemic has been difficult for everyone and we

have all adjusted to how we can continue our lives. As we faced this pandemic it caused

hindrances for the workers and newly graduates to get a job.

Job Challenges

There are also many graduate students who also wants to pursuit the job that you wanted,

especially this time of pandemic, the number of hiring rate is dramatically decreasing. A lot of

workers including newly graduates are taking risks because they are desperate to get a job. The

problem here is how newly graduate students will stand out from other applicant, and how they

will ace the job hiring process.

Objectives

This webinar aims to help graduating students to have a valuable knowledge that

they will going to use to ace the new normal hiring process. The participants of this Webinar can

improve their productivity in life, and better understanding in hiring processing on online. This

Webinar aims to:

 To help the graduating college students of University of Perpetual Help System,

GMA, Cavite to get the career of their dream in this time of pandemic.

 To provide knowledge to graduating college students on proper preparation of

resume and cover letter and how they know where and when to submit the resume and

cover letter.

 To provide knowledge about the hiring process through online platform.

 To show what to prepare for the day of the interview through online platform such

as online devices, internet connections, proper clothes and knowledge about online

platforms.

 To motivate the graduating college students by giving them overall knowledge of

what to expect in this new normal in terms of getting a job online.

hold a Webinar on December 5,2020 Saturday from 4:30 p.m. to 7:20 p.m. It will serve as our

final output for finals of this first semester. This Webinar aims to attract graduating students

from Perpetual. This is to provide information on how to get a job during this pandemic. We

know that this pandemic has been difficult for everyone and we have all adjusted to how we can

continue our lives. Therefore, by sharing the knowledge on how to get a job through online

platform can be done in this way we can help our graduating students from perpetual.

TOPIC:

The webinar is about how to get a “Job Offer” during this pandemic. It aims to provide

knowledge on how to prepare for online interviews and how to create a resume. We will also

discuss the submission of resumes on the online platform where it will be important to provide

knowledge about the hiring process through online platform. This will also provide knowledge

regarding interview preparation, how to present oneself.

GUEST LIST:

 Attendance - Attendance will be conducted before the seminar begins

 Capacity- The google meet has set a participant limit per session for using the

google meet. Google meet using the personal google account are capable to

acommodate up to 100 participants only during a meeting. Due to the limited

number of participants that the google meet can accommodate, we will only

accommodate up to 80 participants including the teachers and the organizers of

the webinar. This is to avoid some technical problems that we might encounter

due to the limited number that the google meet that can accommodate.

 Special Circumstances- we should consider some special circumstances like

unexpected disconnection of internet or slow connection of internet with

reasonable factors.

LOGISTIC CHECKLIST:

 Liability waivers

Those who wish to participate in the webinar must sign up for registration through

google form. This is to ensure that we formally seek their consent in necessary situations.

The registration form will also serve as a guide for us to ensure that the number of

participants is monitored.

 Google link and/or passcode

Those who submit registration through google form will receive an email from us

after one or two days. This is to verify that they are selected as one of the participants of

the webinar. Registrants who did not receive a reply mean they were not accepted as a

webinar participant. This is because of the following:

1. Out of slot due to late registration

Note: this is first come first serve basis due to limited slots

2. Disapproval of the terms and conditions stated on the google form

3. Lack of required information to participate in webinar

RESOURCES

There will be NO MONETARY CONTRIBUTIONS involve in this activity. The

speaker of this event offered her services for free, however we decided to have a contribution

but is not required. The collected money from the contribution will be used to buy a snack for

the speaker as a token of appreciation.

The activity is a gathering of graduating college students via online using Google Meet

PUTTING AN ICE BREAKER TO CONNECT THE PARTICIPANTS TO EACH OTHER

ICE BREAKER TITLE: “Do You Really Know Me?”

Procedure: The Host will choose two contestants from the audience, male and female. The Host

will ask a basic questions according to their general interest on male or female. They have to

answer it quickly to give excitement. Example, the host will ask the two contestant “tall or short?

Why?”

As we connect this to Industrial and Organizational Psychology, having a minimal

humor activity helps the employees to socialize, engage and improve workplace for it builds a

stronger bridge between them. The employees can learn a lot about their co-workers while doing

fun activities that will make their bonds stronger. This will remove the gap that separates each

one of them. It will remove the awkwardness and uneasiness that is present on each of them and

they will be more open to their co-workers.

Creative Poster

We use a creative poster by using one of our colors in school which is yellow with touch
of black to make suited to our audience. We include the important details of our program which
are name of the speaker and also the time and date of the actual webinar held via Google meet.
The poster stated the location of the schools and website to make sure if they have any question
regards to the activity and also the registration of the actual webinar. Moreover, on the poster we
add some inspiration quotes to make our audience feel inspired and get excited of the new
chapter on their life.

It was a warm Saturday afternoon on Dec.05, 2020 when the webinar entitled “You’re

Hired! Getting the Career of your Dreams in the midst of Pandemic” was conducted. This virtual

gathering takes a few weeks of preparation as final output of 3rd years Industrial Organizational

Psychology students. In preparation for the upcoming webinar, the class was assigned various

tasks to make the projects done easily, also to give everyone a record of participation. Our class

was assigned a various task and every participation is recorded. We helped each other to

complete the all task given to us. The students initiate to contribute to the activity as some of

them volunteer to these and those. We, from the class of I.O Psychology decided to select a guest

speaker outside so they can share expertise on the topic. Moreover, before the day of the webinar

came, the group takes time to rehearse and compliment and comment each other task to make the

activity a success.

We have received a total of 73 responses in registration for the Webinar prior and

during the the date of the webinar. We have decided to open the registration even during the

Webinar, because a lot of students still wanted to join the Webinar and they are trying to enter

the Google Meet even though they didn’t fill up a registration form. 8/73 registrants are from 4th

year college students, and 64/73 are from SHS grade 12. And 1/73 is a Psychology Professor.

During the virtual gathering or day itself of the webinar, we the facilitators came early as

it became a practice since rehearsal. The facilitators used to talk and have some laughter so we

can diverse such negative thoughts and nervous thoughts. The exact time of this webinar to start

was 4:30 and gladly, many participants came early prior to the said time, we also start accepting

guest and audience and welcoming each one of them as they join to the meeting, by asking them

what is their strand and course we had a minimal talk.

The Webinar was having a total of 35 successful attendees out of 73 registrants. Four (4)

of them are College graduating students of BS Psychology and BS Education. 31 of them are

graduating Senior High School students from the strand of STEM and GAS. The highlighted

participants are Professors. School staff and Professors don’t need to register, they can

automatically enter the Google Meet for the Webinar.

As they were about to start the program, Ms. Escoto, Jed and Ms. Cuaresma, Julia

opened the activity actively and it seems that the audience were listening attentively. It was

followed by the opening remarks lead by Ms. Rosalyn Dasco, the Guidance Counselor of the

University and she focused her message on what could be the lesson of this pandemic and

introducing the theme of getting a job. Additionally, the guest speaker Ms Marie Joyce Tuyor

was introduced for sharing the topic but she encounter technicalities that is why we conduct a

short break or an icebreaker and it was a fun moment because the selected participant were

enjoyed the activity, an exact timing as well because right after the short icebreaker done, the

guest speaker finally joined the meeting. She was introduced again for the second time and she

went to deliver her expertise with her own slides presented.

The guest speaker is an active HR of MLM named Ms. Joyce Marie Tuyor, she is capable

to discuss regarding the topic as she is well experienced regarding on this topic. She gave the

process on recruitment additionally on the interview tips. She also gave an advice on how to

respond on the Interview question if ever we were applying on the near future. On the content

of the speaker’s presentation, the advice was interesting as she detailed the Do’s and Don’ts

during the interview and application which fuels the graduating students to use this as their guide

in finding a job. The most interesting part such the speaker shared is about

what to wear during interview in women the ideal attire is conservative 2-piece suit, knee length

skirt, dark shoes, and she also mentioned when will put jewelry it should be moderate, if you

wear earrings don’t wear watch or necklace and vice versa. In men the ideal attire for

interviewing is silk necktie with conservative pattern, shirt cuffs show only slightly at the wrist,

conservative 2-piece suit, dark shoes, socks and no earrings. The speaker discussed the

traditional interview; face to face interview, group interview and panel interview. She brings up

amidst pandemic the interview using today is through online, like skype, google hangouts, or

facetime. In Resume making there are do’s and don’ts. After she shared her knowledge, she gave

some tips for the students.

After the discussion of the presentation, the moderator presents a question and answer so

the audience and participants will be free to ask anything related to the topic. Some questions are

“paano po kung blonde and hair pero formal po tignan?”(John Tomas), “True po ban a

bumababa ang hiring rate during this Pandemic?”( Maceda), “Due to Pandemic, what was the

biggest change that the hiring industry had been concerned about?” (Francisco), “Working as an

HR, ano po yung hindi niyo makakalimutan na experience while nag iinterview?”(Lirazan) all

these questions were asked by the guest speaker accordingly and appreciated as she knows that

there are attentive listeners in the webinar. Furthermore, the e-certificate was flashed on the

screen as it will be given to all the audience who attended the virtual gathering and the moderator

also mentioned Mr. Lothar Chen Torres Maceda, Ms. Maria Isabel Francisco, Ms Rosaly Dasco

and the guest speaker.

For the Quick Survey, since the Guidance Office was not yet sending us the Evaluation

link, we have to move the quick survey on Monday, December 7,2020 as Ma’am Rosalyn Dasco

advised. The Evaluation link will be send to the participant’s school gmail address and let them

answer it.

Before it goes to an end, Mr Lothar Chen Maceda extends his warm appreciation for his

students and all the audience attended to the virtual gathering to make the program a success. He

has expressed this full heartedly as a “pabaon” for everyone. Lastly, after the closing remarks

and followed by the closing prayer, the participant had switched on their cameras and the

facilitator took snapshots as a remembrance of attending and attendance as well.

The webinar was ended successful, the speaker delivered her message precise and

detailed, and the participants were noticeable attentive in question and answer portion as well

even in the ice breaker challenge. We have recorded the entire event and we are happy to share

However, we, the organizers weren’t able to conduct a quick survey from the attendees

during the Webinar. We encounter predicaments and this is out of our control. Our Dean Bethel

Hernandez, required us to let the participants answer the survey form that was being provided by

the Guidance Office since we are not allowed to make our own survey form for evalution. The

Guidance Office wasn’t able to send us the link of the Evaluation form, and adviced us to

conduct a late survey on Monday. Certificates of Attendance are ready to send to the attendees

but in order for them to receive the certificate they have to answer the Evaluation form first. But

due to the negligence of the Guidance office in terms of being not able to provide an Evaluation

form, the sending of Certficate of Attendance was delayed. We have wait the link of the

Evaluation form to be send to us but it was already Monday and we still don’t received the link

for the Evaluation Form. This is not the negligence of the Organizers of the Webinar for we do

not have authority to access the evaluation form and it is out of our control.

The organizers of the Webinar have informed the participants about the delay sending of

Certificates to avoid the confusion, unwanted comments from the participants and to keep them

updated from what is happening since it is also their right to know of what happened to their

All in all the activity was a success output for the third year Industrial Organizational

Psychology Students.

Recommendations, Suggestions and Comments

The overall event was successful and we really proud to say that we have accomplished

the given task for us only in a hrot period of time. Everything goes smooth, our host was able to

manage the technicalities experienced by our Speaker as she conduct an ice breaker first and

maintained the excitement of the Event.

It was being recommended to have enough time to plan a webinar to avoid rushing for it

create stress and fatigue to the organizers. However, we can’t deny the fact that this pressure was

the way for us the organizers to value every second and improve our time management skills. It

is also our training ground to deal and work under pressure to keep ourselves ready in the near

future when we already have a job. Additionally, it was being suggested to let the attendees of

the Webinar answer the Evaluation form so that they will receive their certificates on time. Even

though this is not our negligence and it is out of our control, we have to be flexible in knowing

how to avoid such things next time.

Participants showed their support and willingness as they have made themselves register

to the Webinar prior to the given due date. However, it was being observed that most of the

Participants were not checking their school gmail accounts because they didn’t respond to any

emails from us. We created a calendar of event and only few of them were able to respond. In

order for the Organizers to keep the participants updated, we texted them individually providing

the informations that they need to enter the Webinar Google Meet. It is being suggested to do

some precautionary actions and/or plan B according to this matter, to avoid it in the future event.

Overall, the Webinar was successful despite the uncontrolled negligence and unexpected

technical issues. Organizers worked as a team and succeeded to get their objectives in a

professional way.
