Method of Statement for Pulling and Splicing of Fibre Optic Cable

1. The fiber Optic cable drum to load onsite at suitable and without obstruction for
the pedestrian & vehicle at foot path safe place.
2. The fiber optic cable to uncoil for the Figure Eight method to avoid the cable kink
before laying.
3. Pre-install the very light weight pulley wheel to install along the cable route to
prevent the extg; lamp pole to burden weight.
4. After cable is sit on the pulley, Technician to use customer made aluminum ladder
to go up and install eriband steel plate and suspension clamp
5. The fiber optic cable to secured according to cable spec for the sagging and spare
cable slack
6. The fiber optic cable to install with YESC spec 1.5 m away from the Electricity
distribution network.
7. The Fiber Optic cable will first be check for any physical damages occurred
during the cable pulling stage.
8. The Fiber Optic cable will then be strip off the insulation using proper tools.
9. Propyl alcohol will be uses to clean the grease/ jelly of the Fiber Optic cable.
10. The FOC to splice with pigtail and test with OTDR (1550 wavelength) in order to
clarify micro bend pre-jointing test into the closure.(high loss)
11. The Fiber Optic cable will then be pre-arrange into the splicing enclosure tray to
get 3m slack minimum length of fiber needed.
12. If pigtail is to be uses, it will also be pre-arrange into the splicing panel enclosure
tray and test for fiber cable while recover stage damage it and to ensure that they
will not form micro bend which can causes high loss results during testing.
13. The Fusion Splicer will be used to splice either Fiber Optic to Fiber Optic or Fiber
Optic to pigtail.
14. A Reinforcement Sleeve will be heat shrink over the spliced joint to protect fiber
splice to break or prevent to dis-joint.
15. After all the Fiber Optics has been spliced, they will be carefully arranged back
into either splicing enclosure tray and pressure test brfore the closure to seal it.
16. The splicing panel or enclosure tray will then be carefully covered back to prevent
any foreign body from entering it.
