Application Calendar and Deadlines

Our academic calendar includes two 16-week semesters, as well as one 8-week summer session.
• Fall Semester: mid-August to mid-December
• Spring Semester: mid-January to mid-May
• Summer Session: early June to early August (available for transfer students only)

Application Deadlines:
• July 1st – Fall Semester
• November 1st – Spring Semester
• April 1st – Summer Session (transfer students only)

Expenses
Tuition is $425.50 per credit hour plus fees of $22 per credit hour, totaling $447.50 per credit
hour. Note: The Board of Trustees reserves the right to change tuition and fees without notice.

CLC does not offer on-campus housing or dorms. Our office can assist you with locating housing options such as
apartments or extended stay hotels. It is your responsibility to make the final arrangements.

Financial assistance is not available.

Tuition and fees are due upon enrollment each semester. We offer a payment plan that enables students to spread the
payments over the course of the semester. The college accepts cash, checks, American Express, Visa, MasterCard, and
Discover credit cards.

All international students are required to enroll in CLC’s international student insurance policy.

International Student Admission Requirements and Procedures

Application Checklist

□ International Student Application. Student applicant must be at least 17 years old. It must be signed
and dated by the student applicant.

□ Official English-translated diploma or certificate to show proof of successful completion of high

school; or secondary exam certificate results. See a list of accepted high school equivalents: here.

□ Official bank letter or statement from the applicant’s or sponsor’s bank verifying at least $22,216 U.S.
dollars (equivalent). Letter/statement must be written on official letterhead, including:

 Date (current within 6 months)

 Account holder’s name
 Current balance

Note: If dependents will accompany you to the U.S. and will remain here while you study at the
College of Lake County, you must document an additional US$5,500 for each dependent.

□ Copy of passport which verifies applicant’s name, date of birth and photo

□ Transfer Students Only: F-1 status students who wish to transfer to CLC must also submit the
International Student Transfer Form.pdf, copy of current I-20, copy of most recent I-94, and copy
of F-1 visa.

□ Change of Status Students Only: Change of Status Document.pdf, Other non-immigrant students who
wish to transfer to CLC must also submit the copy of current visa, copy of most recent I-94, and and
copies of current non-immigrant documents.

NOTE: CLC accepts TOEFL OR IELTS scores as proof of language proficiency for placement in college level classes:
TOEFL: 71 or above – IBT, internet-based
OR
IELTS: 6.0 or above – Academic Format

Since we offer an English Language Instruction program, proof of English proficiency is not required. An English
placement test is given at CLC once the applicant arrives to determine placement in the English Language
Instruction program or college-level classes.

Orientation
All new international students are required to attend the New International Student Orientation held the week before
classes begin each semester. This two-day program includes important information about the college and community,
health care, adjusting to the American culture and maintaining F-1 visa status.

Check-in Appointment
As soon as incoming students receive their visa, they are required to schedule a check-in appiontment with the
International Student Advisor. Please make sure to constantly check your e-mail for updates and important information
coming from the College of Lake County.
Guaranteed Transfer Admission Programs
The College of Lake County now offers Guaranteed Transfer Admission Programs to provide students a seemless
transfer to earn their bachelor's degrees! We have partnered with several colleges and universities. Check them out at
