ENHANCEMENT PLANS OF GUIDANCE OFFICE

Rocel B. Roxas is the guidance counsellor of ACLC College Gapan


Branch located in Maharlika High Way, Sto, Niño Gapan City.

She obtained her Master of Arts Degree in Education Major in


Guidance and Counseling at Manuel V. Gallego Foundation Colleges,
Inc. Cabanatuan City and her Baccalaureate Degree at Wesleyan
University - Philippines

ABSTRACT

This study is a combination of quantitative and qualitative research, specifically a


narrative research focusing on the misbehaviour of college students that may serve as a basis for
the enhancement of the guidance plans of ACLC College Gapan. They were chosen based on
the records submitted and filed in the guidance office.

Six themes (with corresponding subthemes) were generated which constitute the relevant
findings of the study.

Theme 1: Social discomfort. The subthemes are uncomfortable with classmates and unwanted
attention.

Theme 2: Teacher factor. The subthemes are laizzes faire teacher and inconsiderate teacher.

Theme 3: Intimacy relationship and early pregnancy and relationship break-up as its
subthemes.

Theme 4: Financial problems. It has no subtheme.

Theme 5: Academic concern. The subthemes are dislike course, comprehensive difficulties and
broken class schedules.

Theme 6: Weak love and affection. Its subthemes are weak parental intimacy, lack of
guardian, lack of parental intimacy and parental favouritism

Mr. Bayani J. Nazal, the managing director of ACLC College, for his financial help since

the first day of the researcher’s enrolment on the master’s degree;

Mr. Rommel B. Reyes, the technical supervisor of ACLC, for patiently fixing my

computer and the internet connections in the office which vital for a research like this;

The faculty members of ACLC College for providing some important information on the

behaviour and academic performances of students;

Dr. Celia R. Castillon, the dean of the institute of graduate studies of M.V. Gallego

Foundation Colleges, Inc. for her guidance in some part of the study and for her nice words and

encouragement;

Dr. Dolores M. Carpio, a very dear friend, who does not only assist the needs of the

researcher but also for her inspiring words that kept the researcher motivated to finish this;
