SESSION DESCRIPTION:
This special session aims at addressing the role of intelligent IoT applications in our daily lives. IoT devices ranges from sensors and
smartphones to drones that are used for a plethora of societal applications including healthcare, precision agriculture, environment
monitoring, surveillance, fitness, entertainment and so on. Most of these applications are data intensive and they thrive on the
convergence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) with the IoT. Machine Learning (ML) and Deep Learning (DL) are subsets of AI that are found to
be very useful in designing smart applications for the IoT infrastructure based on cloud, fog, and edge devices. However, security attacks
and threats are prevalent in such smart applications which need to be taken care of for correct and timely support. Also, to reliably
analyses the data, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Deep Learning techniques are to be designed for rendering decision and
support. The session invites interesting contributions on this AI and IoT convergence where many research challenges are prevalent to be
explored by the interested ones.
RECOMMENDED TOPICS:
Topics to be discussed in this special session include (but are not limited to) the following:
• Frameworks, architectures of smart, intelligent IoT applications with social benefit
• Protocols, Algorithms for real time health monitoring with AI-IoT support
• Applicability of AI, Machine learning and deep learning based intelligent models for big data handling
• Quality of Service (QoS) provisioning for smart healthcare, smart agriculture and so on
• Role of Human Activity Recognition in Health monitoring, disease prediction and beyond applying AI based model
• Social data analysis for IoT applications
• Privacy issues of AI-IoT convergence
• Prototype development, simulation, hardware test bed deployment using sensor devices, smartphone, cloud with Internet of
things support
• Attack/threat models, security techniques and trust models in IoT based smart applications
