TOPIC: Study and compare the SWOT analysis of two firms which are competitors of each
other.
INTRODUCTION
WHAT IS SWOT ANALISIS?
SWOT analysis is an acronym for strength, weakness, opportunities and threats. SWOT
analysis is an excellent tool to understand a business environment and optimise it.

STRENGTH
Strength is the capability on a company which can be used to gain strategic advantage over
the competitors in the market. Eg- efficient staff management.

WEAKNESS
A weakness is a limitation of a company which can create strategic disadvantages for it. Eg-
relatively high production costs.

OOPORTUNITIES
An opportunity is a condition in the external environment that can benefit the company. Eg-
state removing trade barriers.

THREATS
A threat is a condition in the external environment that is a risk to the company. Eg- extreme
competition.
VS
ZARA
Zara is a Spanish apparel retailer. It is known to be specialised in fast
fashion and manufactures items ranging from clothes and shoes to
accessories and perfumes. The company has an excellent operating
supply chain and has records of managing its inventory very well.

FOREVER 21
Forever 21 is an American fast fashion retailer. It is specialised in
providing fashionable and trendy clothes at reasonably low prices
compered to that of its competitors in the fast fashion industry. The
company sells products ranging from clothes and home accessories to
beauty products.
ZARA FOREVER 21
CONCLUSION
After looking at and comparing the SWOT analysis of the two retail companies, one can
easily think that forever 21 is the way to go. However, after market research, Zara has an
overall higher market value. Even with its low advertisements and extreme competition, Zara
has managed to beat all of them with its premium quality of products and unique deigns.
One can also come to a conclusion that SWPT analysis can be used as an effective tool to

compare to firms that are direct competitors of each other’s.

principal for assigning me with this project. This project helped me get a clearer
idea of SWOT analysis and about the business environment in general. And
