I. LESSON OBJECTIVES

At the end of the lesson, the pupils should be able to:

a. Describe the functions of the major organs in the human body


b. Explain how the major organs work together to make the body
function properly.
c. Appreciate and value the importance of taking care of the major
organs in our body

II. SUBJECT MATTER:

TOPIC: MAIN FUNCTION OF THE MAJOR ORGANS

REFERENCE: Science IV, Quarter 2- Module 3

MATERIALS:

 Visual Aids
 Pictures
 Illustrations
 Multimedia

III. PROCEDURE:

A. ROUTINARY ACTIVITIES:

 Prayer
 Greetings
 Checking of Attendance
(The teacher will check the attendance according to row which is in the seat
plan

B. REVIEW

The teacher will say, Let’s have a quick review about the past lesson. Answer the jumbled
letters as past as you can.

C. LESSON PROPER

1. MOTIVATION

The learner will read the poem after the teacher

The teacher will enumerate the different organs of our human body based on the poem read.
2. DISCUSSION

The teacher will discuss the functions of the Major Organs of the Human Body

Major Organs of the Human Body


Bones serve as a framework of our body. They protect the vital organs from
injuries.
Muscles enable our body to move. They also give shape and forms to our body.
The movement of bones is caused by the pulling action of the muscles.
Stomach is a large organ lined with layers of muscles responsible for breaking down food into
smaller particles.
Small intestine it absorbs and digest nutrients of the food intake.
Kidneys main job is to cleanse the blood of toxins and transform the waste into urine.
Liver It removes toxins from the body’s blood supply, maintain healthy blood sugar levels,
regulates blood clotting.
Heart It pumps blood allowing the distribution of nutrients in all parts of the body.
Lungs filter oxygen that enters to our body through a filtering structure to ensure that the heart
receives clean oxygen from the lungs.
Brain is the most complex organ and center of the human body. Its main function is to receive and
interpret countless signals that are sent from other parts of the body.

3. GENERALIZATION

Each Major Organs of our Human Body, the bones, the heart, the liver, the lungs, the kidneys the
intestine and most specially the brain has its vital function and it should be given extra care from
the food we eat and the always observe cleanliness of our surroundings.

IV. EVALUATION

Group Activity # I
(Instruct the pupils about the rules of the activity) Label the parts of the Major Organs of the
Human Body.
