OVERVIEW OF THE Reading and Writing outlines are the two types of outline. Reading outline
TOPIC can be used in getting the main idea of a written text while writing outline
can be used prior to writing an essay. Topic and sentence outlines are the
two generally accepted outlines. Topic outline is also called scratch outline
while sentence outline is also known as formal outline.

C. Presentation Our topic for today is about writing an outline. At the end of the lesson you
are expected to use a topic and sentence outline in selecting and organizing
information. Please pay attention at the television screen during the course of
our lesson. (5 mins)
