About us The Firm
Mawji Sennik and Company is a firm of Certified Public Accountants which
provides auditing (both external audit and internal audit), accounting, taxation,
consultancy and management services. The firm, through its associates also
provides company secretarial and registrar services, insolvency services,
mergers and acquisitions and IT consultancy.

The firm, established in 1979, is a Partnership between Mr. Ismail Mawji and
Mr. Youginder Pall Sennik both of whom are members of the Institute of
Certified Public Accountants of Kenya and the Institute of Chartered
Accountants in England and Wales.

The firm’s offices are located on The Promenade, 5th Floor, General Mathenge
Drive, Westlands, Nairobi.
The firm believes in providing high standards of professional services and
expertise and is committed to providing personalized services to clients. The
partners of the firm have sound professional background and experience
ranging from public practice to management of industrial and commercial
enterprises at senior levels.

To uphold the firm’s professional standards and to keep pace with the rapidly
changing commercial world, partners and staff members are required to
undergo regular training conducted both in house and through other
professionals. There is also regular evaluation and upgrading of staff to ensure
that they comply with the firm’s standards.

Team
Managing Partner – Patrick Kamau (CPA K)

Patrick has been with Mawji Sennik & Co. for over
eleven years. He brings to the firm vast audit
experience (both internal and external) in a wide
variety of sectors.

He began his auditing career in year 2009 as an audit


assistant rising the rank to an audit manager a position
he held between year 2015 and early 2020.

In year 2020 he was promoted to lead the firm as the


managing partner. He possesses vast experience
conducting audit of companies in diverse sectors
including professional service firms, marketing,
chemicals trading, general manufacturing, retail and
wholesale business, pharmaceutical manufacturers, insurance, agricultural and
food production and the hospitality industry. Patrick is a member of the Institute of
Certified Public Accountants, Kenya (ICPAK).

Audit Manager – Lawrence Mulinge, CPA(K).

Lawrence recently joined Mawji Sennik & co from


Parker Randall East Africa and brings to the firm audit
experience (both internal and external) in a wide
variety of sectors.

He has extensive experience with auditing


companies of various sizes including a number of
companies in consumer business, insurance,
manufacturing, farming, trading and professional
services.

Lawrence holds a bachelors’ degree in Finance from


KCA University and is a member of the Institute of
certified public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK). He
has over years of post-qualification experience in
external audits and tax advisory services gained in
his current and past employments.

Tax Manager – Oscar Matheka, CPA(K)

Oscar recently joined the firm from PKF International


with over 9 years of post-qualification working
experience in tax consultancy. He has extensive
experience in the provision of general and specialized
tax compliance and tax advisory services across the
East African region.

Oscar has been involved in offering strategic tax


planning and tax advisory services in mergers,
acquisitions and reorganizations, transfer pricing, tax
health check and due diligence reviews and routine tax
compliance services in the various sectors of the
economy.
He has also been involved in securing various tax
exemptions within the E.A. region.
He started his career in 2010 after graduating from Moi
University, Kenya with a Bachelor of Business (Finance and Banking) degree. He
is also a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Kenya having
qualified in 2009.

Seniors and Assistants

Entry level staff join the firm as assistants also known as associates. Upon joining
us from the various colleges, audit firms or other professional services firms, they
undergo a three-year professional training programme during which they are
expected to become professionally qualified accountants and/or secretaries. They
in addition attend various training programmes both external and in-house.

The seniors are usually qualified and with at least 3 years’ experience. The seniors
are assisted by assistants.
