    COMMISSIONING FOR IRRIGATION SYSTEM Issue Date

    1. Scope

     The scope of this method statement is to ensure that the testing and commissioning of irrigation system like
    sprinklers, bubblers and drips will be done using the approved procedure, which complies with the project
    specifications.

    2. References

     Contract Specifications
     DOT. Environment, Health & Safety Management System (EHSMS)
     Al Jurf QHSE Management System and Project Specific Safety Plan

    3. Responsibilities

     It is the Project Manager’s duty to ensure that all necessary safety and protective equipment are provided
    along with the properly trained and qualified personnel.

     It is the QA/QC Engineer’s duty to ensure that the Method Statement Procedure is adhered to by all
    personnel.

     It is the Site Engineer’s and the Foreman duty to organize the work in a safe manner, and in accordance with
    the standards.

     It is the duty of Safety Officer (assigned Foreman) to supervise and monitor activities and perform as per the
    guidelines of HSE standards.

     It is also the duty of Safety Officers (assigned Foreman) to report any accidents, near misses, and dangerous
    occurrences to Safety Engineer and participate in the investigation process.

     It is the Safety Officer’s (assigned Foreman) duty to initiate appropriate action for excellent safety
    performance / repeated unsafe acts of personnel and implement safety measures as per HSE plan.

     It is the Engineer’s/Foreman duty to ensure that all the works are performed to the satisfaction of the
    Company and as per the project specifications.

    COMMISSIONING FOR IRRIGATION SYSTEM Issue Date

     It is the worker’s duty to adhere to all the safety rules. They must perform the work in accordance wit the
    Method of Statement.

    4. Procedure / Method to be Employed


     Flushing all the pipelines
     Adjustment of valve outlet pressure +/- 10% of normal
     Replacing all clogged or partially clogged emitter lines – delivering less than 50% of normal flow or any
    emitter overflowing by more than 50% (Squirting)
     Carrying out emission uniformity, test involving at least 40 emitters on up to 10 valves as directed by the
    engineer.
     Ensure that all valves boxes and sprayers are flush with finish grade
     Trials shall only be carried out after all valves pressure have been adjusted
     Adjusting sprayers and sprinklers to ensure spray into pavement and paths are minimized.
     Adjusting spray pattern to ensure optimal coverage
     Preparing of irrigation schedule.
     Adjusting of controllers to give an optimal flow regime generally in accordance with the drawing and as
    instructed by the Engineer.
     Valves sequence may be modified to ensure that valves operate in a logical sequence to facilitate maintenance
    operations.
     Irrigation cycles for sprinklers and sprayers should be programmed during nighttime and early morning.

    7 Health and Safety Provisions

     All the works will be undertaken in accordance with site safety regulations as stated in the contract
    documents.

     The site will be kept clean and tidy in accordance with site safety regulations, mainly at the time of soil
    spreading and after spreading activities.

     All the machinery will be checked (daily routine maintenance) before starting the work by the operators and
    then by Safety Officer.

     All the workers on site should abide to the HSE plan.

     All the machinery works will be performed in accordance with site safety regulations for utmost safety.
