Dear Students and Parents,
Welcome to Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada
University, Nanded (MS) With the ‘B++’ Grade (CGPA 2.96) bestowed
upon it by NAAC, the University moves ahead with a firm determination
of further enhancing its academic and research goals. While enhancing
and upgrading the infrastructural facilities we are also committed to

further our obligations towards the society and environment.
The aim of our university is to have the highest standards of ethics and conduct in
teaching, research as well as in administration, organizational policy and behavior. Student
centric teaching and research programs are our merits. Equity of access to all students,
irrespective of their background is cherished by us. We stand for academic freedom to all the
faculty and students to engage in intellectual discourse and critical enquiry without fear and
favor. Free and conducive atmosphere to students and staff and encouragement to strive for
academic excellence and acquire skills by exploring the inherent potential within is our norm.
The University offers wide range of teaching and research programs in Science & Technology,
Social Science, Commerce & Management, Language, Literature and Culture Studies including
Foreign Languages, Fine & Performing Arts, Journalism, Education, & Sports etc. We are
consistently doing all efforts to improve the ways in which knowledge is created, made
accessible, managed, disseminated and controlled. While doing so, we have prioritized our
values but are also open for constructive changes which are modern in content and world
compatible.
Our sub- centre at Latur and Parbhani as well as Late Shri Uttamrao Rathod Tribal
Development and Research Center, Kinwat and the New Model Degree College at Hingoli are faring
well. We have successfully entered in the mainstream of Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan
(RUSA); a premier funding agency of state and central government. RUSA has provided sizable
funding for innovative research, e-learning and developing infrastructure. This University is a part of
the ‘European Union’s (EU) ‘Erasmus Mundus Programme’ which aims to enhance quality in
higher education through scholarships and academic co-operation between the EU and the rest of
the world. Our students and faculties are actively enrolled in this program. We have MoUs with
internationally reputed educational institutes in Spain, Korea and other institutes of national repute.
We have also been enlisted by the ICCR for enrolling international students for various academic
and research programs.
Our faculties have published their research articles in various reputed international
journals. Involvement of our students and faculties in LIGO-India project (Laser Inter ferro-metry
Gravitational wave detection Observatory) funded by NSF, USA is a testimony of our efforts in the
direction of international collaboration.

1.1 ABOUT SRTMUN
Quality Programs:
SRTMUN has a comprehensive range of academic programs. The programs range from ‘Certificate
course, Diploma course, Advance Diploma, Degree Course, and Post Graduate Courses. Our degrees
equip students with skills required to meet the academic challenges across the range of disciplines in the job-
oriented market. ‘Study tour’, ‘field trips’. ‘Industry visits’ are designed in such a way that they enhance

academic knowledge in an out-of-classroom environment. Training in ‘National Laboratories’ and ‘Industry
Internship’, is offered which gives students opportunity to experience the research and work carried out in
the industry through their discipline in a real world setting. It offers students an opportunity to face real
life situation.
Research of highest standard:
SRTMUN offers students an opportunity to carry out research through Home Assignments. projects
and / or Dissertation. Students are encouraged to present their findings in the regional and national level
seminars. Students are also encouraged to participate in ‘Research Festivals’ like ‘Avishkar’ and ‘Anveshan’.
They get opportunity to meet various scientists, researchers and Nobel Laureates across the discipline. The
SRTM University has many National and International collaborative programs, such as Erasmus Mundus.
Excellent Teachers:
SRTMUN follows student-centric approach to learning enhanced by flexible options through choice
based credit system. More than 150 teachers are engaged in teaching, many of them have won academic
awards of high standard and are recognized internationally in their own fields of specialization in research
activities. University follows innovative methods of teaching, which includes ‘Group Discussion’, ‘Seminar’,
Interactive Teaching. ‘Constructivists and non-constructivists methods’ which are well supported by new
teaching aids like ‘LCD’ and ‘Interactive Boards’ in the class room. SRTMUN also provides opportunity to
students to interact with teachers from various Universities, National labs, and research organisations through
its ‘Adjunct Faculty’, ‘Scholar-in-Residence’ schemes. Many of the ‘adjunct faculty are award winning faculty
in their own discipline.

SRTMUN is a great place to pursue higher education. The campus is located on an elevated Deccan
Plateau which is heart in shape. The University is spread over an area of 550 acres and has majestic

2.14) WOMEN’S STUDY CENTRE
Women’s Study Centre was started functioning in Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University, from 8th March 2010, under University Grand
Commission, New Delhi. Dr. Derek Hooper, an eminent consultant on gender equality of UK Government, London had inaugurated the center.
Women’s study center is focusing on different women issue, gender inequality and
Discrimination in the society through many activities namely teaching, research and
Extension. For generating awareness and up gradation of knowledge the center has
Offered full time P.G. Diploma Course in women’s studies (one year duration) and
Interdisciplinary Certificate Course in Women’s studies (six month duration) for
Students of various disciplines including Sociology, Human Rights, Law, Economics,
Language, Medical Sciences, Social Work etc.
Apart from these the center has been actively involved in research on development aspect of gender in general
and marginalized women in particular in Marathwada region, the Centre has also initiate different extension activity
and program like workshop, Guest Lecture etc. on different women issue in the society.

2.16) SHRI. GURU GOBINDSINGHJI ADHYASAN SANKUL & RESEARCH CENTRE
Since the establishment of Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University in 1994, there was a demand to establish a Chair in the
name of Shri Guru Gobindsinghji. During the Akhil Bhartiya Sahitya Sammelan at Ghuman in 2013, Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Devendraji
Fadnavis announced an endowment of Rs. 1.00 crore for the establishment of the Study Centre. An effort was made to pursue with UGC to
establish a Study Centre in the name of Shri Guru Gobind Singhji. The proposal was accepted and a Study Centre was sanctioned to the
University.

The Centre proposes to carry out research and comparative study of Sikhism, to establish sophisticated instrument laboratory (SIL)
to carry out high-end research activities, to create a Data Bank of literature related to Shri Guru Gobind Singhji and to carry out research on his
literary work. The Centre also proposes to promote translation of Sikh literature in other Indian and foreign languages to spread to the holy message
of his teachings. Transliteration between Gurumukhi, Devnagari, Roman and Shahmukhi scripts is also proposed. Digitization of the Punjabi in the
form of dictionary, thesaurus and archival work related to ‘Sikhism’ will be undertaken so as to provide ready reference to national and international
students. As per the directives of Hon’ble Vice-chancellor
Dr. Udhav Bhosle, the Adhyasan Sankul is going to introduce a certificate course from the academic year 2019-20.

2.17) SUB-CENTRE, LATUR
The rapid and technologically oriented new education approaches made every stake holder to plan and execute
the higher education programs with a lot of inputs and care, so that the country would ultimately benefit and
achieve the desired development through the potentially trend youth generated from various regional and
geographical parts. The current trend in education has been leaning towards upgrading and updating knowledge
and ideas with skill development to enhance the creativity and to face the demands of job requirements.
Technology enabled Centers have helped in taking forward University level education to more professional

ends. The authorities concerned of SRTMUN and the state government look forward in the expansion of
opportunities of Higher education sector at underprivileged areas. This has resulted in establishing a Sub-Centre
(Campus) at Latur. The Sub-Centre has provided a comprehensive platform for learning specialized and
professional courses at the local level. This welcome move would help meet the higher education needs of the
growing youth population of the region and thereby increase the GER. Key industries and organizations are
also queuing up to hire exceptional talents having competent and updated skills in commerce and management
studies, computer, information technology, biotechnology, bioinformatics, fundamental sciences, economics
and other fields like social sciences, humanities, media studies, etc. Sub-Centre, Latur (established in the year
2007) has accordingly been prepared to impart education, training and employable skills through different
courses under the umbrella of School system. All the schools and the administrative wings are equipped with
infrastructure, fixtures and other amenities independently. Computer laboratories and personal PCs with staffs
are connected with broad-band internet facility. The successful academic process and drive for excellence are
conditioned here by the elements like visionary academic leadership, committed and talented faculty,
transparency in administration, merit driven functioning, liberal funding, CBCS curriculum designing and
finally the enthusiastic students. Thus the product of the Sub-Centre, Latur is a complete, potential, vibrant-
youth ready to undertake challenges and will not mind to manage the business of others. Apart from conducting
specialized courses of higher learning, the Sub-Centre, Latur has also become the nodal agency for the affiliated
Colleges/Institutions/Research Centres of Latur district in the context of University’s administrative and

5 Other Facilities at the Sub-Centre
The Central Library – It has 497.37 sq m area to accommodate stack room, reference block, issue counter, well equipped
reading hall, Asstt. Librarian’s cabin, e-Journal lab., office and WCs. It is managed by a qualified Asstt. Librarian and
other supporting staff. There are 7636 books of 4280 titles available to students and staff. National Journals, magazines
and News papers are regularly procured by the library. The library is connected to international e-Journals database
through INFLIBNET facilities. There are separate units for Competitive Examinations, and for Distance Education. The
regular activities of the library are computerized with SOUL software – 2 version an OPAC operations.
6 The Computer Laboratories - There are 08 computer labs for the students with latest computer hardware and software
installations. The computers are maintained by a qualified Computer staff and by hired experts.
7 Internet Facility - All computer Labs, PCs with the faculties, at Library and in offices are connected with broad-band
non-stop Internet facility from BSNL and under NKN project of Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India.
8 Students’ Recreation Halls - There are separate recreation halls for Boys and Girls provided with news papers,
magazines and table games in each school.
9 Placement Unit – Each school coordinates placement activities of students for their project work and future job prospects.
It is assisted by senior faculties. The placement officer of the university provides inputs to the units as per demand of
organizations. Accordingly, Industrial houses, Firms, Financial institutions, Banks, NGOs, Academic/Research
institutions and other private recognized organizations are invited to interact with the students for selection, training and

3.0. CAREER ORIENTED / VALUE ADDEDED COURSES

6.0 RULES FOR ADMISSION
1. For admission to PG Programme student has to earn minimum 24 credits in the concerned / allied subject at UG level as per the
University / UGC norms.
2. Admission schedule declared by the university is to be strictly followed at every school.

3. On the date of admission, the selected students must submit all required original documents.
4. The prescribed full fees and deposits have to be paid by the selected students on the day of admission.
5. Privilege in payment of fees only to reserve category students has to be duly excirsed after verification of documents and
previously obtained GOI number/certificate. But, prescribed deposits have to be paid by the reserve category student.
6. If a selected student does not take admission by the due date, his/her candidature will be reconsidered only during spot
admission following a fresh merit list.
7. At the time of spot admission if seats are vacant from reservation categories, based on merit, such category students will be
admitted first and then remaining seats will be filled up as per open merit.
8. After the date of spot admission if there are any vacant seats the concerned School Director with the approval of the Hon’ble Vice-
Chancellor may admit eligible students.
9. All admitted students are required to submit an undertaking with regards regular class attendance, participa tion in all internal evaluation
process, anti-raging and other disciplinary measures.
10. Admission of a student will be granted to only one Programme at a time, even if he/she is eligible for more than one Programme.
6.1 PROCEDURE OF ADMISSION
(A) Admissions to the above courses will be given strictly on merit / CET basis.
(B) Candidate must have studied the subject at the qualifying examination as one of the optional subjects (Wherever necessary).
(C) A candidate shall be admitted to the first year course of the masters degree in the faculty as the case may beprovided she/he
satisfies the following condition:-
Candidate must have passed the Bachelor’s Degree examination in the concerned faculty of this university or an examination of
the university recognized as equivalent thereto.
(D) Whereas aggregate marks obtained in the degree course (I,II & III year) will be considered for preparing themerit list for those
courses where marks obtained in the optional subject is not compulsory.
(E) The merit list shall be prepared on the basis of marks obtained by the candidate in entrance examination (wherever
applicable), provided that incase of tie relative merit of different candidatures shall be resolved in the following order of preference
and the methodology as specified bellow:
(i) Percentage of marks in the concern subject at UG (wherever applicable).
(ii) Percentage of aggrigate marks in UG. (iii) Percentage of marks at HSC. (iv) Date of birth
6.2 DISTRIBUTION OF SEATS:

2. 30% Seats for other University students in Maharashtra.
3. Over and above quota, 20% Seats for other States in India and 15% Seats for other Countries
4. Seats remaining vacant from the quota of other Universities (30%) in Maharashtra shall be filled by priority from S.R.T.M.
University, Nanded and then from other State Universities.
5. Seats remaining vacant from the quota of S.R.T.M. University, Nanded (70%) shall be filled by priority from other University in

9.0 SWAYAM / NPTEL / MOOC COURSES:
Our university has etablished SWAYAM-NPTEL local chapter since May 2018. The link for it is : https://

recieved from our students our local chapter has been recognized as ‘Active local chapter’ by SWAYAM-NPTEL in the very first

Our university also made a provision for fee reimbursement (by adhering to some rules and regulations) for students and faculty

11. FACILITIES
11.1 Knowledge Resource Center (KRC): Central Library
The Knowledge Resource Centre building located at the center of all Campus Schools has a rich collection of
books, journals, bound volumes, theses, reports and other reading material. The KRC has automated its services and
provides circulation, Web OPAC, reference, referral, SMS, wifi, etc. services. Entire theses collection in the KRC is
digitized and is available on Shodhganga. The KRC is member of Shodhsindhu and has access to huge online e-
resource. A well furnished study-room, Swami Ramanand Teerth Memorial and different sections of the KRC are
places of attraction for the students.
11.2 Sports, Gymnasium Facilities and Health Centre:
The University gives due importance to the overall development of students and their recreational needs.
For this purpose, volley-ball, basket-ball, kabaddi and kho-kho courts are on the University Campus.

Facility of well-equiped ladies and gents gymnasium is available on campus. Health Centre with all primary
medical facilities is also available for health care under supervision of competent staff.
11.3 Facility for Differently Abled Persons:
The Differently abled students avail various softwares, computers and other equipment’s for effective learning.
Ramps, railing, lift etc facilities are also provided on the campus to facilitate them smoothly. Various academic and
recreational activities are organized for the students.
11.4 Career Counselling and Placement Cell:
The University has in place a Career Counselling and Placement Cell. Various Seminars, Workshops and
Campus Interviews are organized by the Cell. The Cell has established effective coordination amongst Campus
Schools, Industries and other Organizations.
11.5 Hostel Accommodation:
Separate hostel facilities for girls and boys are available on the university campus. The admission to the hostel
is strictly given on the merit basis to P.G. students of all campus schools. The quota for each school is decided on
demand and supply basis. There are three boys’ hostels in campus and one more is under construction. The intake
capacity of boys hostels is 300. There are four hostels on campus with includes girls’ hostels, one minority girls
hostel. The intake capacity of girls hostel is 344. Capacity of minority girls hostels is 100, and admission for boys’ and
girls’ hostels are given as per the rules of the Govt. of Maharashtra. The mess of boys’ hostel is run by floating tenders.
The mess of girls hostel is run on co-operative basis and shall be compulsory for each student-hostelite.

This centre is especially for the isolation of active constitutes from the herbs through equipments available
in the centre like Preparative HPLC and flash system. The development opportunity under this project is to provide
basic equipment facilities which is not only useful for the isolation of active principals from locally available medicinal

herbs but also for the technology transfer to researchers of University, affiliated Colleges, Industry and other
University staff.
The RUSA centre is serving as a hub for isolation of activers from the herbal plants and also technology
start-ups and will actively identify and provide for the value-added services required to support incubator clients
(acdemic institutio and industries).
The RUSA centre is presently having sophisticated instruments like fully automated preparative HPLC
and Flash system, Microplate reader, Nano drop UV Vis spectrophotometer, Lyophilizer, Flame Photometer, All
Purpose Equipment (Granulation of Solid Oral), Fluid bed dryer, Electromagnetic Sieve Shaker With accessories,
Analytical Balance, Wensar Weighing Balance Rota evaporator, Digital potentiometer, digital pH conductometer,
melting point/ boiling point apparatus, muffle furnace, circulating water bath, water purification system HPLC grade
water, Clevenger apparatus, hot air oven, Olympus Microscope (Compound), Ultrasonic Bath, spray dryer etc.
These instrumentation facilities may be availed by researcher, students and researchers of colleges affiliated to
University, Industry and other University staff on minimum charge basis.

12. General Rules and Special Instructions
a) All admissions will be given on merit basis./ CET
b) Students should read the prospectus carefully before filling the admission form.
c) Students should note the procedure of admission and time-table.
d) M.B.A., M.C.A., B. Pharm. and M. Pharm. courses are governed by AICTE rules and DTE
admissionsprocedure.
e) All admissions given in the campus schools are as per the University rules and regulations.
f) No correspondence will be made with regard to admission. The students should read the
merit list displayed in the school concerned on the date mentioned in the prospectus.
g) Claims on refund will not be considered after the deadline.

h) The candidate must remain present with all the documents in original.
i) No student will be given admission after the deadline.
j) Incomplete admission forms will not be considered.
k) If the necessary documents are not attached with the application forms, the application forms
will not be accepted. No concession of time will be given to those who do not attach the necessary
documents.
l) It is necessary to fulfill the required condition/qualification that the university has recommended for the
postgraduate course concerned.
m) The students of arts, commerce and science faculties who have passed the compulsory or second
language will be eligible for admission to M. A. in the respective language.
n) Required percentage as decided by the university is essential for admission to the courses related to
AICTE.
o) The students, who will be eligible for admission to the courses, will be subject to the eligibility conditions of
the university.
p) The students who have completed first year from the other universities or affiliated colleges will not be eligible
for admission to the second year of the postgraduate course on the campus.
13. ANTI-RAGGING REGULATION
Ragging is legally banned. It is a punishable offence. In view of the increasing number of events of
ragging, the University Grants Commission has passed the “UGC Regulations on Curbing the Menace of
Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions, 2009.
Ragging is any conduct by “any student or students whether by words spoken or written or by an act
which has the effect of teasing, treating or handling with rudeness a fresher or any other student, or including in
rowdy or indisciplined activities by any student which causes or is likely to cause annoyance, hardship or
psychological harm or to raise fear or apprehension thereof in any fresher or any other student or asking any
student to do any act which such student will not in any ordinary course do and which has the effect of causing or
generating a sense of shame, or torment or embarrassment so as to adversely affect the physique or psyche of
such fresher or any other student, with or without an intent to derive a sadistic pleasure or showing of power,
authority or superiority by a student over any fresher or any other student.”
The Anti-Ragging Committee may, depending on the nature and gravity of the guilt established by the
Anti-Ragging Squad, award, to those found guilty, one or more of the following punishments namely;
i) Suspension from attending classes and academic privileges.
ii) Withholding / withdrawing scholarship / fellowship and other benefits.
iii) Debarring from appearing in any test / examination or other evaluation process.
iv) Withholding results.
v) Debarring from representing the institution in any regional, national or international meet, tournament, youth
festival, etc.
vi) Suspension/expulsion from the hostel.
vii) Cancellation of admission
viii) Rustication from the institution for period ranging from one to four semesters.
ix) Expulsion from the institution and consequent debarring from admission to any other institution fora specified
period.

Provided that where the persons committing or abetting the act of ragging are not identified, the institution shall
resort to collective punishment.
The students are devised to consult the Anti-Ragging Committee in case of emergency.
