Cafeteria management system

1.Introduction
Wolkite university is one of the nine newly established as third
generation universities by federal government of Ethiopia in 2004 E.C,
and it found in the southern parts Ethiopia at 165 km ,south west
direction of Addis Ababa .
The main campus is located at gubrie site, which is 12 km far from
wolkite town.
In the university cafeteria management system is one of the organization
system which provides food for university students.it is belongs to under
the collage of university. We collect the information about the system
through interview, observation and document analysis. this system has
three main components which are Administrative , staff and
employees. there is one top manager and two senior manager ,staff and
employees. Other problem student ordering
mechanism is very difficult and time losing manner. To over come this
problem we discussed with administrative and
staff. our project is to develop computer based cafeteria system for
wolkite university.
Generally In this document we will describe our implementation of
the design, how the two are different and why? which means
current and new system.

Overview
As we have mentioned in the previous section, the best solution
that we have intended to solve the problem in the cafeteria is to
develop a database . Data base that we will develop help the
cafeteria to achieve its objective together with the manual system.
Any cafeteria administrator, staff and employees who have an
account can access the data and any available resource from the
data and any information from the data base regarding to there
responsibility. therefore, they can logged in to the data base based
on;they have different privilege, based on that privilege they can use
the it effectively.
The data base will give enough information about the employees, staff,
students data and any information of the cafeteria management.
purpose of system
 The main purpose of this document is to identify the problem and
present our results from the analysis of problem and application
domain. It is important to understand the problem domain in order
to specify a system definition and be able to give solution.
 We will analysis the problems involved to form an opinion about
possible solutions for the problem. then we designed easily and
effectively management system ,cafeteria ordering system, reduce
work over load and reduce paper work with saving time manner. It
was decided early in the project that the model organization for our
analysis should be a cafeteria.
 Generally to make our cafeteria system is automative and
increase operational efficiency.

Scope of the system

Cafeteria management system is performs the following tasks:-

Food serving and food preparation, both of which are handled by the
cafeteria employees
By keeping track of which quality and quantities of different food
items for students
Placements of employees
Scheduling system
Solving problems occurred among employees and students
Manages time when food provides for students
There will be harmonious of work.

Objectives and success criteria of the project

The main objective of our project develop computer based
cafeteria system for wolkite university students.
to provide automative, quality meal for students and
cafeteria ordering system with time saving manner management
system.
This requirement determination is the fundamental activity for fact-finding
or gathering of Information about the
cafeteria.
To achieve the general objective stated above, the project is designed to
attain the following

specific objectives:-
To identify the problem
To enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of our cafeteria system
Evaluating the performance of the current system and setting
solution
Both skilled and unskilled labor is needed.
Develop a desktop application
 Success criteria of the project is describes as
following:-
Requirement are very well documented
Clear and fixed
Project is short and computerized form
There is no ambiguous requirement
All system Computer based mechanisms.
It solve problem domain of the cafeteria management system.
Reduce over load of work in the organization
All activity of system is time saving manner.
As indicated in the proposal, our main concern is to make the process of
management effective and
computerized. We believe that the system that we intend to develop is to
find better use in a cafeteria. Because
all the problems we wish to address are present in this analysis.

functional requirements
Functional requirements are observable tasks or processes that must be
performed by the system. For example,
functional requirements of our system must be usable and more
accessible for a user in the Wolkite University cafeteria. These groups of
requirement stress functionality that the system should support for the
user.
Our system provide the following functions for the
user:-
Administrative function database
Authentication(check) of system for use
The system shall generate report
The system provide new idea from manager to employees easily
The system provide announcement
The system provide different resources
The system provide student information
The system allow the user share different information
Nonfunctional requirements
Non-functional requirements are related to the system as a whole
rather than individual system feature.
Generally Non-functional requirement place restrictions on the product
being developed, the development process, and specify external
constraints that the product must meet .
Its as follows:-
Project management issues ; costs, time, and schedule .
Different hardware plate form and desktop application
Generally Our proposed system based on this non
functional requirement; safety, security, usability, reliability and
performancerequirements.
Usability
Usability is a term used to denote the relief in which people can
employ a particular tool or other human-made
 object in order to achieve a articular goal
In this case our system possesses the following regarding to usability:
Easier to learn:-Operation can be learned by observing the object
Well-structured user manuals
Informative error messages
Help facilities
Well-formed graphical user interface.
More satisfying to use.

Reliability
It is ability of new system to perform it required function under stated
conditions for specific period of a time.
The reliability of the proposed system will be better due to proper
storage of information when users access the application.
Constraints on the run-time behaviour of the system; this means
Run-time or display response time to user is
Very fastely and automative.

Performance
performance is concern the speed of operation of our system
Run-time or display response time to user is very fastily and
autamative
Our system is available for service when requested by end-user
Our proposed system is can accomplish much information within a
specified amount of time.
This system gives service 24 hours per day with maximum response
time so, it is easy to access data from the stored document .
Supportability
Supportability :-means requirements of our new system that
concerned with the ease of changes to the system after deployment.
Adaptability: The ability to change the system to deal with additional
application domain
Concepts (adaptivity = autonomous adaptation)
Maintainability: proposed system can be change the system to deal
with new technology or to fix defects.
Internationalization: it can be change the system to deal with
additional international
Conventions:- such as languages, or number formats and different
styles.
Portability: our new a system or component can be transferred from
one environment to another.

Requirement Gathering Technique

 Fact finding technique is by using interview.

 We have interviewed the manager of cafeteria.
