PREFACE

The “Statistical Handbook of Mizoram 2020”, which is

the 23rd (twenty third) in the series presents statistical data of
the State in a consise form, covering various sectors of an
economy. Data were collected from various Central and State
Departments, Directorates, Offices, various Non-Government
Organisations, Churches and other official documents and pub-
lications. It seek to provide statistical information on Socio-Eco-
nomic aspect of the State. Efforts have been made to incorporate
upto-date information for the benefit of interested individuals,
policy makers, administrators, bureaucrats, planners, scholars,
research scholars and tourists.
I gratefully acknowledged the kind cooperation ex-
tended by all data suppliers and hope continuous cooperation in
future. Even though all possible efforts have been made for pub-
lishing this Publication before the end of the Fiscal 2020-2021;
Covid-19 Pandemic delayed collection of statistical data.
I expressed my sincere gratitude to all Deputy Direc-
tors, Research Officer, Inspector of Statistics, Sub-Inspector of
Statistics, Field Assistant of Statistics, Data Entry Operators of
Technical Wing of this Directorate for bringing out this invalu-
able Publication.
Any suggestion and advice for further improvement in
terms of Content, Presentation, Quality, etc. for the next publica-
tion would highly be appreciated.
