Nature of Field of Study


Agriculture is the science and practice of farming, including cultivation of the soil for the growing of crops and the rearing of animals to
provide food, fiber, and other products. Agriculture covers six fields of study, namely: crop science; animal science; soil science; crop protection;
economics and marketing; and agricultural extension and communication.

Program Educational Objectives/Program Goals


The BSA program aims to educate students in the scientific habit of thought and entrepreneurial skills and prepare them to become globally
competitive professionals with entry-level competencies in technical agriculture. It emphasizes the processes and techniques of identifying, diagnosing
and analyzing problems and in designing, packaging and applying technologies needed in the development and conservation of
the agriculture and food system resources.

BSA is closely related to the fields of agribusiness, agroforestry, animal science and animal husbandry.

XVI. Classroom Policies:


1. Absences. Maximum of 3 consecutive absences in the class, students will be subject for referral in the guidance office and will be dropped if it
failed to attend. Fifteen (15) minutes late in the class is automatically absent.
2. Dress Code. The prescribed dress code for students of the College should be strictly observed. A student not properly attired will be marked
absent and are not allowed to take quizzes, exams, etc.
3. Strictly on time submission of requirements of students will be implemented.
4. The student hand book will serve as guide for all. Additional guidelines maybe issued by individual faculty to respective classes.

XVII. Consultations
Consultation hours will be announced individually by each lecturer, with a view to the concept of mentoring and nurturing the ideas of the students. The
students are encourage to regularly seek the advice of their lecturer’s course facilitators.
