SEMI- DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN HEALTH 9

I. OBJECTIVE: Assesses emergency situation for unintentional injuries. (H9IS-IIIb-38)


At the end of the lesson, the learners are expected to do the following with 85% proficiency;
a. Identify the different unintentional injuries;
b. Enumerate the steps in handling emergency situation for unintentional injuries; and
c. Explain the importance of giving first aid in an emergency situation.

II. SUBJECT MATTER:


Topic: Survey of the Scenes and the Victim
Reference/s: Grade 9 Health Module 2 and Internet
Materials: PowerPoint Presentation, Self- Learning Module, Video Lesson (Audiovisual Activity) and Pictures

III. PROCEDURE:
a. Preparation
 Opening Prayer
 Checking of Attendance
 Classroom Management

b. Motivation (Elicit)
The teacher will provide video about first aid. Let the students watch it and answer the processing
questions that follows;
 What can you say about the video?
 What is your idea upon hearing the word unintentional injury?
 Based on the video that you have watch, what do you think is our lesson for today?

c. Lesson Proper (Explain)


The teacher will explain the meaning of first aid, unintentional injuries and the top 10 things do to in case
of emergency (throughout the discussion the teacher will integrate the lesson in Values Education and
Science)

ACTIVITY 1: Text Twist (Engage)


Directions: Arrange the jumbled letters to form a word.

Directions: Write TRUE if the statement is correct and write FALSE if the statement is incorrect.

 Student E speaks comforting words to her cousin who sprained his ankle while playing basketball.

10. While applying maximum head-tilt-chin-lift method, pinch the nose and give two (2) initial
full breaths to the victim.
