Unschool is a e-learning platform which offers courses in recorded and pdf forms. In
Unschool internship I have been appointed in the position of Marketing and Operations. My
primary task is to market Unschool courses to students across various colleges in the country.
From the start date of internship, I have been doing market research to identify the target
market for the product. I have recruited students, taken their interview who are working under
me called “UCI”, given training for sales pitching and Promoting the Unschool product
through digital marketing.
14 | P a g e
Overview of the project
Unschool is an online ed-tech platform and it provides variety of courses under different
segments. The aim is to reach wider audience through better digital presence and their digital
presence has been a significant one.
I have been working with the various tasks which includes creating posts and posting on
different medium, creating the team with different kinds of people, diversified backgrounds.
Analysing the candidates behaviour by contacting with them, how they are working, their
approach to the works they have allotted with was also one of my major task. The work
emphasis such on knowing the pattern of consumers, Unschool community influencers,
providing them sales pitch, and encouraging them to do promotion as well.
I have been provided the opportunity to do market research for leads, to convert the leads into
potential customers. There were challenges on getting positive response from the consumers
but we kept trying. Also I got the opportunity to hire some of the UCI’s for our team. But got
some positive response as well. The team mates were cooperative and they also tried from
their side.
Then keeping the records of sales and UCI’s on sheets and maintaining the data was also a
part of my task.
Through this project I’m able to communicate with lot of people, like placement officers,
attended induction meetings, bringing the UCI’s for meetings.
This was an encouraging moment for me when my very first leads got converted into prospect
consumers and also found value from the courses they invested on

Introduction
Advances in Information and Communication Technology have drastically increased not only
access to information but also opportunities for people to create and share information. With
these changes came the proliferation of fake news, making the issues of mis- and
disinformation more prevalent and pressing than ever before.
In the last 20 years, the Internet has grown from being nearly non-existent into the largest,
most accessible database of information ever created. Online teaching is here to stay. Many
students prefer the online classroom since it offers flexibility in their busy schedules. With the
proliferation of information and knowledge, students must become lifelong learners in today's
world, and online education plays an important role in helping individuals access the learner-
centered and self-directed instruction.
With enhanced software, hardware, and Internet access, more options for online education
will become available. With student enrollments increasing faster than classrooms can be
built, students becoming more proficient with technology, and students pursuing an education
that meets their needs, the future of online education will continue to grow. Online degree
programs will become more widely accepted as they become a more common practice.
Online courses are a breath of fresh air which breaks the classroom learning mold. The biggest
advantage of an online course is that your classroom and instructor (theoretically) are available 24
hours a day. You can study any time you want. You can study with whomever you want. You can
study wearing anything you want (or nothing if you prefer!) Online courses give you the flexibility to
spend time with work, family, friends, significant others or any other activity you like. Online students
often find that their family, friends and/or boy-girl-friends get involved in the course. Oftentimes, a
student will study with that special someone present. Children may take an interest in the online
environment. Because you have a direct pipeline to the instructor via e-mail, you can get your
questions answered directly. Many students aren't comfortable asking questions in class for fear of
feeling stupid. Many of us don't really take the time to get to know our fellow students, especially in
16 | P a g e
large classes. We might be too busy or we're just plain shy. An online course provides an opportunity
to get to know other students via bulletin boards, chat rooms and mailing lists. Most of the time, most
of what we learn in a course is forgotten within a week or two of the end of classes. Having that spark
of interest and knowing how to find information online insures that what your learning is always
available to you. The number of advantages is more than this, hoping that the general idea of
taking the online course are disseminated. Considering the busy and hectic lifestyle we have,
online education is the best bet. The opportunity one gets to learn at any time-anywhere
broadens education to greater horizons.
Despite research showing the benefits of classroom-based MIL education, the limitations of
offline-based education lead us to explore the effects of an online educational game that can
help people to become information literate citizens. That is, even though the importance of
offline-based education is well established, public school systems often face practical
challenges in timely implementation of those education programs against mis- and
disinformation. There's also an increasing concern of marginalizing those outside the purview
of the school system, like adults who have already graduated, people with limited access to
learning opportunities, or students whose school districts do not offer adequate MIL programs.
For these learners, an online intervention program open for public use is a more accessible
alternative.

Introduction about Unschool
25-year-old Rahul Varma became an engineer not by choice but out of chance. He realised
much later in life that his passion lay in management and sales, and not coding. After
heading AIESEC’s operations in India, he went on to become the Chief Operating Officer
for an edtech startup in Bengaluru. There, Rahul realised that India’s schooling and
education system was outdated, as there hardly is any industry relevance to what was
being taught in schools and colleges. Most of the youth lack industry relevance and real-
time skills to keep up with the pace of change in technology and other industries.
18 | P a g e
On the Unschool platform, students can sign up and immediately start their lessons. Once
they complete 20 percent of the course, they are intervened with a project that tests their
knowledge. Upon finishing 70 percent of the course, another major project intervention
takes place. Once they do well and finish 80 percent of the course, they are presented with
handpicked internship opportunities from reputable MNCs, startups, NGOs etc.
Unschool relies on a learning management system that allows coaches (experts) to host
their lessons in various formats, and for students to learn and engage with peers and the
coaches, as well as apply for internships. Some of the courses on Unschool are on data
sciences, AI, coding etc.
Unschool has a 50 percent completion rate because other than providing pre-recorded
videos, it builds an online learning ecosystem that offers personal mentorship by industry
experts to complete LIVE projects. It enables students to get placed in internship
opportunities in the best companies due to its outcome-based learning approach.

Methodology adopted for the Project
The methodology is a part of the research design. Research design is a plan, structure to
answer whom, when, and how the subject is under investigation. The project scope involves
the finding of potentiality and demand pattern in EdTech sector and which type of courses are
in trend with the type of requirement of market. This project is totally practical and intensive
work based.
Qualitative data- The project was mainly constituting qualitative research- it mainly focuses
on verbal data rather than values or mathematical variables. Gathering information is then
analysed in the interpretive manner, subjective, diagnostic, etc.
The methodology adopted- generally speaking, Unschool provides a wide variety of courses,
and targeting the right type of consumer for the most preferable course was one of the major
methodologies behind enrolments.
Convincing pitch for enrolment was also a major important aspect which had to be covered.
Also, while communicating with vast number of people understood what type of preferences
they have, did market research on which background what type of courses they can refer to.
Also through different social media platform, different strategies had to be adopted like
through
LinkedIn for prospects the placement officers, colleges had to be contacted and through
Instagram different potential candidate and also leads for the creation of UCI teams were
considered. This also made me learned through different platforms the approach should also
be differing at a large scale. Through digital presence and increase in competitiveness also
there have been many challenges to create a strong digital presence and make people more
aware of Unschool courses but fortunately Unschool has a quite a strong digital footprint and
their website is also well optimized.
So, researching all these major steps were like creating awareness through different platforms
and circulation where the network marketing was the major task and did a chain marketing on
rolling the forms through us as well as the UCIs who was working with us. During enrolment,
20 | P a g e
I pitched about the offers which had attracted more consumers, and once they got convinced
payment was done through online mode and had to male sure that there should be secured
payment done. Also some of the consumers faced issues related to the access of the courses
helped to resolve those issues as well.

Market for Edtech industry in the upcoming years
The education system is no longer synonymous with the traditional classroom set-up and
students are now leveraging edtech platforms and tools to learn at their desired pace.
According to a report from KPMG and Google, the edtech market is expected to cater to 9.6
million users and have a market share of 1.96 billion dollars by 2021. It is certain that the

What I Have Done in Internship
With the whole internship period it was a great experience to know and got chance to work in
the marketing and recruiting department. It’s also a great achievement for me to learn and
implement by practically the entire procedure of digital marketing and recruitment process.
All of these opportunities I had captured in that field and also to expand knowledge. This
report is entire based and prepared on my work experience while working with Unschool. it
will also help to clear the confusion between practical knowledge and theoretical knowledge
and to gain experience in different task. During my internship period a number of approaches
and exposure methods were used as I have been working in excel updating it daily. From the
start date of internship, I have been doing market research to identify the target market for the
product. I have shared posters, form and done digital marketing to get the people recruited
under me, have given training to interns about how to make team as part of network marketing
how to convince customer to get enrolled for the courses. As a intern of Unschool I have been
dealing with the customer, communicate with customer guide them about the courses, the
feature life time access, participate induction program conducted by Mr. Anirban Bose. It was
near impossible task for me to learn everything about all marketing sector with such a limited
span of time. This was an opportunity to develop and enhance skills and competencies in my
career field which I actually achieved.
The task was assigned by Mr. Anirban Bose, The task he assigned was to make our own team
of 10 people who will be working under me as a intern and they will be performing at UCI
unschool community influencer, and for that I have managed to get many lead from my
contact and taken their interview, conduction of induction program for the new joined interns
to get the basic knowledge of what will they have to do in the internship
27 | P a g e
Why Unschool Internship Help me
The training has helped me to gain business work experience since I was involved in
practical work in a business environment.
The training has equipped me with more knowledge in addition to that obtained in class in
relation to the working environment.
The training has helped me to impart the theoretical knowledge to practical since I was
involved in the practical work in the business environment.
The training has also helped me in making of connections with various people who in the
future may give a helping hand my life.
The internship training has helped in making friends and making healthy working condition
through interactions.
28 | P a g e
Finding
Working with Unschool has givn me a great opportunity as it was a work from home internship
there is many difficulty like making sales pitch to prospect, One of the major challenge is to
convince the faculties, placement officers, students for taking the courses but because of the
following:-
The leader of Unschool was so friendly he has helped me in solving my above
mentioned problem
How to work in an organizational environment
How to lead a team for organize an event or task
They also provides the platform for different coaches who can teach and this keeps the
other side of profitability high
Their USP (Unique Selling Proposition) is providing the internship opportunity once
they complete the course and also provides projects for each course and this is one of
the benefit.
29 | P a g e
Recommendation
Internship has given me a lot of opportunities and helped me to impart theoretical knowledge
to practical knowledge, but there is a need to review the way in which internship is handled
and address some of the above mentioned challenges.
Unschool can increase the number of courses as there is many demand for the courses which
are not available on unschool as compared to competitors.
The price of the courses can be more affordable as per competitor price and many of the
courses competitors offering free of cost.
The guidance on sales pitch was less, could have provided some more session for the same.
Sometimes there were communication gaps that was something which can be improved to
enhance the experience
30 | P a g e
Conclusion
Working with Unschool was the new and exciting experience for me. Working beyond our
own benefits encouraged me to work hard for the company to build their image. The
internship provided me the insight about how the organization exactly works and manages the
things going around. Engaging myself in all the possible activities to get good leads. The work
I performed includes helping our leader, managing excel sheet, managing, creating various
unschool poster, spending time with clients and interacting with the community leader. This
activity benefitted me to improve my thinking towards the marking and edutech industry.
I even thank IIEBM Indus Business School for providing me the opportunity to work for the
Unschool as a part of my Winter Internship Program
