Academy converts the voltage of the vehicle power supply
Power supply (110 V DC, Input Voltage Range 44...220 V DC)
into DC 5 V
The power supply is cut off in case of under-
and over voltage.
A red LED (IoL) indicates the overload condition
of the output.
The output of the module may be enabled or
disabled by means of a logic signal ‘inhibit’ (red
LED „i“).
Testsockets are located at the front of the
module, termed with ‘+’ and ‘-’.

IMU Power supply The IMU Supply Board creates the voltage DC
5V and DC 24 V/125 mA for the IMU train borne
unit.
The LED’s ‘24’ and ‘5’ indicate the internal
power supply voltage.
The LED’s ‘1’ ...’8’ are not used and are dark.

IMU VE The IMU processing board is connected via a
special serial link with the ATO train borne unit
and receives train data from the ATO.
Itis responsible for converting identifiers (e.g.
destination no., service line no., vehicle running
no., direction button information) serially
transmitted from the ATO train borne unit into
IMU telegrams and transmit them to the track.
In the opposite direction location information or
operation data is received via the receive-
demodulator-unit from the track and is transferred
to the ATO.

DINBUS PC104 The DINBUS PC104 board is inserted in
the DINBUS PC104 carrier board V25463-
B406-A2. It is connected with the ATP and
the HMI via the vehicle bus (DIN Bus). The
coupling to the bus is made via a front plug
with RS485 level and galvanic isolation.

provides the following interfaces:
1 x RS232 interface
1 x RS482 interface

CPU Board
CPU board: V25463-B401-X5
The central processing board of the ATO trainborne unit is
a stand alone computer board. Software updates are
realised via a USB floppy-disk drive. By means of the
internal system interface bus (cPCI) the central processing
board is connected with the peripheral interface modules of
the ATO (I/O, Serial, DIN bus).

Analog Outputs
Output Electrical and logical signal form
• the smallest driving or braking power corresponds with the lowest signal range limit, the
largest power with the uppermost signal range limit.
• This signal and also the running/braking commands are interrupted by the ATP in all
manual and restricted modes.
• The analogue signal is a 0-20mA output , but only the range from 4 to 18mA will be used
as a linear set value, equals 0 to 100% of the set value. The range from 0 to 2 mA is
considered invalid and the range from >19 to 20mA is also considered invalid. The range
from 2 to 4mA is used for 0% set value and the range from 18 to 19mA for 100% set value.

Inputs
• odometer pulses:
are digital signals and used for displacement measurement. The odometer pulse generator
generates with every revolution a total of 64 pulses. The interface signals of both odometer
pulse generators are read in by the Timer Interrupt Board TINTE.
