TOPIC #1:
RESEARCH TITLE: The effects of socioeconomic status to the capabilities of the
families to provide the needs of students in attending online classes

Background and Context


Lead the reader into the topic and scope of your research.
On January 30, 2020, the Department of Health reported the first COVID-19 patient in the
Philippines, and after a few months, the cases are continuously rising that causes schools to
temporarily shut down and end the school year 2019-2020. In June, the school year 2020-
2021 should already start, but due to this pandemic, the classes were moved to October 5,
2020 other private schools that pass to the standards of Department of Education already start
in August at the same year. Many changes were applied in the learning system of all schools,
instead of having face to face discussion, the classes will be held by having Virtual meetings
using different communication platforms, alternatively, Modular type modality is also present
wherein module will be sent individually to the students. Attending Online classes demand
some requirements, like gadget such as; Laptop, Computer, Cellphone, and also a stable
internet connection which is a lack in our country. Also, let’s consider that many people are
Unemployed because of this pandemic that is present, many of the businesses, companies,
Stores are still close, most of the people are affected. Many Families now with a low to
middle Socioeconomic status can’t even afford to eat three times a day.

Justification
The rationale for the research, or the reason why the research is being conducted.

Covid19 has a big impact on people lives. Students need to stay home and attending online
classes while parents still need to go to work to support the financial needs of their children.
This research is to determine the effect of socioeconomic status and capabilities of the
families to provide needs of students in attending online classes.

Assessing the Effects of Health Crisis on Agricultural Sector


Specifically Selected Farmers in Burgos, Isabela

Background and Context

The COVID-19 pandemic is already having devastating impacts on the world economy, both
directly and through necessary measures to contain the spread of the disease. These impacts
are also being felt by the agriculture sector. The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the
agricultural sector has brought unprecedented challenges both production of agricultural
products and its consumption due to shortage of agri-inputs. This leaves them no choice but
to throw away their hard grown food, leaving them to rot back at home. Farming does not fall
under the “work from home’ category. Farmers risk contracting the virus every single time
they leave the safety of their homes in order to earn enough money. This is the sad reality
many of them have to face in the midst of a global health crisis.

Justification
To examine the effects of health crisis on agricultural sector specifically selected farmers in
Burgos, Isabela

online business because many people were afraid to leave their home because of the
situation.. In order to gain customer to their business, they use different social media platform
to promote their business such as twitter, facebook, instagram, pinterest and many more.
Social media has big role to the community, many people were using different kind of social
media platform
