The Odisha EXTRAORDINARY PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 167 CUTTACK, THURSDAY, JANUARY 28, 2021/MAGHA DEPARTMENT OF WATER RESOURCES NOTIFICATION No. 2819--FE-II-ABE(C)-10/2019-WR., The 28th January 2021 In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to Article 309 of the Constitution of India, the Governor of Odisha is pleased to make the following rules further to amend the Odisha Engineering Service (Methods of Recruitment and Conditions of Service) Rules, 2012, namely: (1) These rules may be called the “Odisha Engineering Service (Methods of Recruitment and Conditions of Service) Amendment Rules, 2021" (2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in Odisha Gazette 2. In the Odisha Engineering Service (Methods of Recruitment and Conditions of Service) Rules, 2012 (here in after referred to as the said rules), in rule-3, for sub-rule(1), the following sub-rule shall be substituted, namely “(1)_ The Service shall consist of the following grades under different Departments of Government, namely: (a) Engineer-in-Chief (b) Chief Engineer (©) Additional Chief Engineer (4) Superintending Engineer (e) Executive Engineer (f) Assistant Executive Engineer.” 3 In the said rules, in rule 4, (in sub-rule (1), for clause (b), the following clause shall be substituted, namely: “(D) In respect of the grades of Engineer-in-Chief, Chief Engineer, Additional Chief Engineer, Superintending Engineer and Executive Engineer by promotion from Chief Engineer, Additional Chief Engineer, Superintending Engineer, Executive Engineer and Assistant Executive Engineer respectively.” (i) In sub-rule (2) of rule-4, for the words and expression “33% (thirty-three percentum) and 67% (sixty-seven percentum)”, the words and expressions "40% (forty percentum) and 60% (sixty percentum)” shall respectively be substituted In the said rules, in rule 7, (i) for sub-rule (3), the following sub-rule shall be substituted, namely: “@) ‘The Commission after receipt of the applications shall take steps to select the candidates on the basis of the highest of the valid GATE score of preceding 03 years of the date of advertisement (including the year of advertisement)” (i) In sub-rule (4), the words and expression marks secured in Career Evaluation, Objective type written test and Viva-voce test”, the words and expressions “valid GATE score shall be substituted” In the said rules, in rule 9, for sub-rule (1) and (2), the following sub-rules shall be substituted, namely: — “(1) ‘There shall be a committee consisting of the following members to consider the case of promotion of officers to the rank of Additional Chief Engineer, Chief Engineer and Engineer-in-Chief in the service, namely: (a) Chief Secretary - Chairman () Secretary, Finance Department - Member (©) Secretary of the Administrative Department - Member (@) Special Secretary or Additional Secretary or Joint Secretary or Deputy Secretary of the Administrative Department dealing with the subject - Member Convener (2) There shall be a Committee consisting of the following members to consider the case of promotion of officers to the post of Assistant Executive Engineer, ‘xecutive Engineer and Superintending Engineer, namely:- fa) () © @ Secretary of the Administrative Department - Chairman Enginecr-in-Chief or Engineer of equivalent status of the Administrative Department = Member Chief Engineer, Mechanical - Member (In case of promotion of corresponding posts of Mechanical wing only) Special Secretary or Additional Secretary or Joint Secretary or Deputy Secretary of the Administrative Department dealing with the subject - Member Convener.” By order of the Governor ANU GARG Principal Secretary to Government Printed and published by the Director, Directorate of Printing, Stationery and Publication, Odisha, Cuttack-10 Ex.
