    Lesson Plan in Mathematics II

    I. OBJECTIVES
     At the end of the lesson, student should be able to:

    A. Read and write decimal words into numbers.

    B. Determine the place value of each decimal numbers.

    C. Perform on how to round off decimal numbers.

    II. SUBJECT MATTER: DECIMAL NUMBERS

    REFERENCE: Grade V Mathematics Book and Scribd.

    MATERIALS: Cartolina, Marker, Chalk, Colored Paper, Scissor and Glue

    III. PROCEDURE

    Preparatory Activities:

     Prayer
     Greetings
     Energizer
     Checking of Attendance

    A. MOTIVATION

     The teacher will ask his/her learners if they have experience going to a mall and ask them
    if what they have notice regarding on the prices of the item in the mall.

    B. PRESENTATION

     Teacher will show a chart and let the pupils to identify and give their insight regarding with the
    chart posted in the board.
    C. ACTIVITY

     Let the pupils do the activity.


     To start the activity, the teacher will give the definition of DECIMAL NUMBERS then
    he/she will group the class into two (2) groups then assign them with their respective
    category which are the ODD AND EVEN NUMBERS FROM 1-50.

    D. ANALYSIS

     How do you find the activity?


     What can you say after doing the activity?
     Check and analyze the work of the students.
    E. ABSTRACTION

     The teacher will now properly introduce the definition of the subject matter which is
    the decimal numbers and give some example of the said subject matter.

    DECIMAL NUMBERS-it refers to the number whose whole number part and the
    fractional part is separated by decimal point.

    Then after, he/she will now proceed in discussing the decimal place value chart which
    represents the value of each digit in a number.

    DECIMAL PLACE VALUE CHART

    Whole numbers . Tenths Hundredths Thousandths Ten thousandths

    0 . 9 2 8 5

    0 . 2 6 5 7

    0 . 9 1 4 7

    At this point of time, the teacher will now proceed to reading and writing decimal and
    site an example.

    1. Forty-three hundredths (0.43)

    2. Twenty-three and nine tenths (23.9) ROUND OFF

    3. Seven hundred ninety-two thousandths (0.792)

    F. APPLICATION

     The teacher will give a short quiz to his/her students expressing decimal numbers as the
    value of money in which the students will read each number and write it into decimal form.

    1. Sixty-eight pesos and fifty centavos.


    2. Seventy-nine pesos and twenty five centavos.
    3. Fifty pesos and five centavos.
    4. Fourteen pesos and fifteen centavos.
    5. Eighty-four pesos and twenty centavos.
    6. One hundred ten pesos and thirty centavos.
    7. Forty-six pesos and seventy-five centavos.
    8. Ninety-nine pesos and twenty-five centavos.

    G. GENERALIZATION

    Ask the learners with following questions:


     Can you now read and write decimal words into numbers?
     Were you now able to know the place value in each digits in a decimal
    numbers?
     For you, is there any different ways that decimal numbers takes place in our
    everyday living?
    H. EVALUATION

     In this point of time, the teacher will assign the class to answer a short quiz in which
    they will write it into decimal form.

    1. Fifty-four thousandths.
    2. Six and five tenths.
    3. Two and one hundred twenty-six thousandths.
    4. Seventy and three-hundredths.
    5. Eight hundred two ten thousandths.
