Course Overall Aims:
The aim of this course is to give a simple review on the most important basic units in
Physics with an introduction on the dimensional analysis. An introduction on the
mechanism of fluids, the mechanical properties of matter, heat, electricity and optics. The
major concepts covered are: Fluids at rest and Fluids in motion, mechanical properties and
the difference between Young, Bulk and Shear’s constants, units of temperature, specific
heat of materials, heat transfer (conduction, convection and radiation), Sound Wave,
Mirrors and Lenses ( concave and convex), Coulomb’s force and electric potential,
capacitors and dielectric.

• Participation and individual homework (20%)

• Exams: Assessment 1 (20%) +Assessment 2 (20%) + Final

•Final Exam and Assessments are in campus

Intensive English
These courses are considered as intensive courses to improve the students’ English skills in writing,
reading and listening. The English Language student level is determined according to the BAU English

This action is applied when a student fails
to attend 80% of the course classes
Students Evaluation
• Good Standing:

- Students with SGPA>=2.0 and CGPA>=2.0 are said to have good standing.

- A student who gets an SGPA less than 2.00 in the fall or spring semesters can
only register for 12 credit hours in the subsequent spring or fall semesters.

• Probation: Except the 1st semester, students receiving SGPA and CGPA less than 2.00
will receive an academic warning and are prevented from registering for more than 12
credit hours in the subsequent semester
