1. Do the Philippine arts have identity? (3pts)

Philippine art’s identity follows the western heritage in terms of paint, canvas, and other materials,
as well as influences like impressionism, expressionism, surrealism, cubism, pop, minimalism, and
so on, contributes to the cultural identity confusion.

2. What is the purpose of a cartoon? (3pts)

In visual art, a cartoon is a hilariously deformed sketch or likeness created with the intent of
satirizing or ridiculing the topic. These days, cartoons are mostly employed in newspapers to
transmit political commentary and editorial opinion, as well as in magazines for social comedy and
visual wit.

3. Why are photos so important? (3pts)

Photos are important because it help us remember people, places, experiences, and tales from our
past. They can assist us in determining who we are. We preserve the important events and people
in our lives. The ceremonies of birth and birthdays, marriages and anniversaries, holidays and new
houses are all recorded because they matter.

A. Identify the style/s the artist used on the following paintings and explain your answer.

The style used in this painting is Cubism because the


brown tones predominate in the image of mother and
child in basic but emotive figures set against the barong-
barongs' improvised walls and roofs in geometric and
contrapuntal patterns therefore it represents cubism.
