• Prerequisites
• Optical/electrical Ethernet B2B direct connection or
electrical indirect connection through DCN-LAN
switch between existing TN with new ML6600 which
supports L3 interfaces
• Assigning free IP from TN subnet ( subnet0/29) to be
configured as loopback (lo) interface of ML6600
node
• Assigning new subnet (subnet1/30) for creation of
two L3 interfaces on both TN and ML6600 nodes
• Assigning new VLAN ID for L3 interfaces creation on
both TN and ML6600 nodes ( VLAN: 3989 )
• It is an optional to assign another VLAN ID to merge
LAN-DCN and O&M LAN port again and it is
mandatory if site has DCN-LAN switch and external
products connected to TN
• Change Interface usage from Front connector to unused
• Assign switch port for new LAN interface with the same number of LAN-DCN interface
• Assign switch port for new LAN-DCN interface
• Change port role for both interfaces from I-NNI to UNI
• Create VLAN and adding two ports as port members and untagged
Note :
1. This is optional step in case of creating L3 interface ( out of band solution – Routed DCN )
2. It is recommended to create it in case of securing this LAN interface to be O&M LAN port .
• Change admin status of B2B LAN port to be UP , assign specific switch port and activate alarm
notifications.
• Configure port role for this switch port to be I-NNI .
• Create an L3 VLAN interface as follows:
1. In the Management Tree, expand the NE> Ethernet.
2. Right-click Ethernet Switch, and select Configure > VLAN.
3. MINI-LINK Craft displays the Ethernet Switch - Configure VLAN page.
4. In the VLAN table, add a new VLAN or select an existing one, and check the L3 VLAN IF checkbox of that VLAN.
5. Click Save on the Toolbar to apply changes.

• Configure the IPv4 address of the L3 VLAN interface as follows:
1. In the Management Tree, expand the NE> Ethernet > L3 VLAN Interfaces.
2. Right-click the L3 VLAN interface to configure and select Configure > General.
3. MINI-LINK Craft displays the Configure L3 VLAN page.
4. In the General IPv4 section, enter the IP address in the IP Address field.
5. Click Save on the Toolbar to apply changes.
1. In the Management Tree, right-click the NE.
2. Point to Configure, point to DCN, and then click OSPF Areas.
3. Select the IPv4 tab.
4. If the interface is numbered, add the L3 VLAN interface network to the OSPF area.
1. In the Management Tree on the Packet pane, click on L3 interfaces, then click on interface lo.
2. Click on the Router Loopback - Configure related task.
3. Set the IP address.
• Change admin status of B2B LAN port to be UP and activate alarm notifications.
• Configure port role for this interface to be I-NNI .
• Change admin status of WAN interface of MW link to be UP and activate alarm notifications.
• Configure port role for this interface to be I-NNI .
Creating an L3 VLAN Sub-interface
1. In the Management Tree on the Packet pane, right-click on L3 VLAN interfaces.
2. Click on Configure L3 VLAN sub-interfaces.
3. Click on Add.
4. Create an L3 VLAN sub-interface connected to the desired port, for example: LAN 1/0/5 with L3 VLAN ID 3989.
Assigning an IP Address to the L3 VLAN Sub-interface
1. If a numbered IP interface is required, set the IP address as follows:
• In the Management Tree on the Packet pane, expand L3 VLAN interfaces.
• Right-click on L3 SUB 1/0/5.3989 and select Configure.
• Set the IP address and the IP subnet mask.
• Enable notification and add Alias name.
