Feast of The Archangels
Feast of The Archangels
Feast of The Archangels
MASS INTRODUCTION:
Commentator:
Today we celebrate the feast of the three Archangels whose names we know. St Michael was the
archangel who fought against Satan and all his evil angels, defending all the friends of God. He is a really
powerful protector from the snares of the devil. St Gabriel announced to Zachariah the forthcoming
birth of St John the Baptist, and to Our Lady, the birth of Jesus. We are very familiar with his greeting to
Mary, “Hail, full of grace,” and repeat it thousands of times. St Raphael took care of Tobias on his
journey and especially protects young people who entrust themselves to him.
May we ask for protection from this powerful archangel very often; may St Michael protect all Christians
and fight with us in this battle against the enemy and so help us to get to Heaven.

Blessed be God, who has begun a good work in us.
Blessed be the name of the Lord.
We urge you, brothers [and sisters], to progress even more, and to aspire to live a tranquil life, to mind
your own affairs, and to work with your [own] hands, as we instructed you, that you may conduct
yourselves properly toward outsiders and not depend on anyone.
Presider:
God, our all-provident Father, | you have placed the earth and its fruits under our care, | so that by our
labor we will endeavor | to ensure that all share in the benefits of your creation. | Bless all those who will
use this building, | so that by respecting justice and charity | they will see themselves as working for the
common good | and find joy in contributing to the progress of the earthly city. | We ask this through
Christ our Lord. R. Amen.
Then holy water may be sprinkled on the office, shop, or factory, and on the participants.
Presider:
May God, the Father of goodness, |who commanded us to help one another as brothers and sisters, |
bless this building with his presence | and look kindly on all who enter here. R. Amen.
Almighty everlasting God, who do not forbid us to carve or paint likenesses of your saints, in
order that whenever we look at them with our bodily eyes we may call to mind their holy lives,
and resolve to follow in their footsteps; may it please you to bless + and to hallow + this statue
which has been made in memory and honor of your servant St. John Bosco, And grant that all
who in its presence pay devout homage to your servant may by His merits and intercession
obtain your grace in this life and everlasting glory in the life to come; through Christ our Lord.
All: Amen.
