Hi Bill. Looking on your blog, I see you have not posted any preliminary
slides for Sunday. I will go ahead with my thoughts about Sunday and
ask you to work with whatever you have prepared already.
Biblically - images of Moses and the burning bush, or Jesus and his
disciples would be appropriate - also...the chorus of the closing hymn is
"draw me nearer, nearer precious Lord, to the cross where thou hast
died" - images of the cross with a road leading to it would be good for
later in the service. After the sermon, if you have time to be creative
this weekend, do a visual meditation on "denying self, taking up cross,
and following"
We have two traditional hymns, two songs from Cross Section (the
second is a sing-along), and two prayer songs. Please call me at home
if you have not received the appropriate lyrics.
Thank you again Bill. I have the kids running around the office as I do
this (Jerusha is chaplain this week for Strength for the Journey Camp),
so I will be short here. Please call me with any further input you need.

How Great
Thou Art
O Lord my God!
when I in awesome wonder consider
all the worlds thy hands have made,
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,
thy power throughout
the universe displayed.

5 Verses
I am thine, O Lord,
I have heard thy voice,
and it told thy love to me;
but I long to rise in the arms of faith
and be closer drawn to thee.
Draw me nearer, (nearer, nearer)
nearer, blessed Lord,
to the cross where thou hast died.
Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer,
blessed Lord,
to thy precious, bleeding side.
Consecrate me now to thy service,
Lord, by the power of grace divine;
let my soul look up
with a steadfast hope,
and my will be lost in thine.
Draw me nearer, (nearer, nearer)
nearer, blessed Lord,
to the cross where thou hast died.
Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer,
blessed Lord,
to thy precious, bleeding side.
O the pure delight of a single hour
that before thy throne I spend,
when I kneel in prayer,
and with thee, my God,
I commune as friend with friend!
Draw me nearer, (nearer, nearer)
nearer, blessed Lord,
to the cross where thou hast died.
Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer,
blessed Lord,
to thy precious, bleeding side.
There are depths of love that I cannot
know till I cross the narrow sea;
there are heights of joy
that I may not reach till I rest
in peace with thee.
Draw me nearer, (nearer, nearer)
nearer, blessed Lord, to the cross
where thou hast died.
Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer,
blessed Lord,
to thy precious, bleeding side.
I am thine,
O Lord

End
Praise God, from whom
all blessings flow;
Praise him all creatures
here below;
Praise him above,
ye heavenly host;
Praise Father, Son,
and Holy Ghost.
Amen.
