4.1. Spell very simple expressions consisting of word,
phrases and very simple sentences (using
punctuations) correctly.
4.2. Copy very simple texts correctly such as greetings
and messages.

Duration 5x35 minutes (more or less).

Meeting 2: To talk about rules.

Meeting 4: To understand very simple descriptive
reading texts with pictures.
Meeting 5: To review the lessons.
Materials New English Parade-Middle East Series 4, Unit 4,
SB page 32-41.

Techniques of Repeating after the teacher/ Audio.
Delivery Doing written exercises.

Meeting 1

Lesson Objective: To talk about health.

Opening activities (5 minutes):


1. Teacher greets students and writes what he says on the board.
2. Teacher takes students’ attendance and greets some students.

Core activities (25 minutes):


1. Teacher tells students that they are going to learn about health.
2. Teacher shows students pictures of good habits that can lead to the
topic of health. Teacher asks students how they take care their
health.
3. Teacher pairs students to do activity 1 page 32; making a list of
words about health on a big piece of color paper so later it can be
displayed on the wall.
4. Teacher asks students to go around the class reading other
students’ list of words about health. Tell them to agree or disagree
to other groups’ ideas.
5. Teacher plays the audio for activity 2.
6. Teacher asks students listen to the conversation carefully.
7. Teacher reads the conversations several times for students to
repeat.
8. Teacher asks students to work in groups of 4 to act out the
conversation.

Closing activities (5 minutes.):


9. Teacher asks the groups to act out the conversation in front of the
class and to choose for the best acting.
10. Teacher wraps up the lesson and closes the class.
Meeting 2

Lesson Objective: To talk about rules.

Opening activities (5 minutes):


1. Teacher greets students.
2. Teacher reviews the previous lesson by asking the question “What
do you do to keep healthy?”, “Where do you go when you get hurt?”
etc.

Core activities (25 minutes):


3. Teacher asks students to open the book to page 33 to discuss the
pictures about rules.
4. Teacher asks students related questions such as “What should we
do when we ride a bike?” “Should we wear a helmet?” etc.
5. Teacher asks students to write what they should do and what they
should’t do as students. Teacher draws a table of 2 column, the one
is for Should and the other one is for Shouldn’t.
6. Teacher asks students to work in pairs to ask and answer about
animal abilities using the expressions in activity 6.
7. Teacher asks students to write what they can do.
8. Teacher asks students to report to the class what they can do.

Closing activity (5 minutes):


9. Teacher asks students to draw their favourite animal and write the
description about it including where it lives and what it can do.
10. Teacher wraps up the lesson and closes the class.
Meeting 3
Lesson Objective: To talk about sickness.

Opening activities (5 minutes):


1. Teacher greets students.
2. Teacher reviews the previous lesson by asking the question “What
should you wear when you ride a bike?”, “What shouldn’t you do
when you ride a bike?” and so on.

Core activities (25 minutes):


3. Teacher asks students to open the book to page 34 activity 5.
4. Teacher asks students if they ever feel the same way like on the
picture.
5. Teacher writes down the sicknesses on the board and asks students
to comprehend them.
6. Teacher asks students to play a game. Students are divided into
groups and each student of the group must come forward to act out
one of the sicknesses whispered by teacher. If the group can guess
it correctly, they get a point.
7. Teacher reads the expressions of showing sickness in the bubbles
several times and asks students to repeat.
8. Teacher asks students to work in groups of 6 and to act out the
conversation.
9. Teacher asks students to read the sentences in activity 6 and match
them with the people in the picture.
10. Teachers plays the audio for activity 7 and asks students to
listen to it and number the sicknesses in correct order.
11. Teacher asks students to complete the sentences in activity 8
with words from Word Bank.

Closing activity (5 minutes)


12. Teacher asks students to listen to the rhyme and to say it
together.
13. Teacher wraps up the lessons and closes the class.
Meeting 4
Lesson Objective: To understand very simple descriptive reading texts
with pictures.

Opening activities (5 minutes):


1. Teacher greets students.
2. Teacher asks students about previous lesson by showing pictures in
activity 8 and asking “What happened to the girl?”, “What happened
to the boy?” and so on.
3. Teacher leads students to reading a story “Play Sports”.

Core activities (25 minutes):


4. Teacher tells the story on page 37 and asks students to repeat it
after him.
5. Teacher asks some questions about the story to check
comprehension.
“Look at the picture. Who are they?”
“What happens if they exercise?”
“What does Talal do to keep healthy?”
“What shouldn’t you do when you play a baseball?”
6. Teacher asks students to cut the story and make it into the little
book (Optional).

Closing activities (5 minutes)


7. Teacher asks students to do the project (Optional).
8. Teacher wraps up the lesson and closes the class.
Meeting 5
Lesson Objective: To review the lessons.

Opening activities (5 minutes):


1. Teacher greets students.
2. Teacher shows students pictures of healthy activities and asks
students if they do those actvities as well.

Core activities (25 minutes):


3. Teacher asks students to do the project of making a health poster
using the rhymes given on page 39.
4. Teacher explains how to do the activity on page 40 and asks
students to do it in pairs/ groups.

Closing activities (5 minutes)

5. Teacher asks students to complete the sentences using the words in


Word Bank and to write a journal about a time they were ill or hurt
themselves on page 41.
6. Teacher wraps up the lesson and closes the class.
