1.0 SCOPE:
The work shall consists of construction of side drains in accordance with requirement of
the specifications and to the lines , grades , dimensions as per approved drawings or as
directed to the engineer’s representative. The drains are completed in proper sequence.
Excavator
Dumper
Concrete Batching plant
Transit Mixture
Chutes
Needle vibrators
Water tankers.
3.0 EXACAVATION:
Side drains will be excavated to the specified lines , grades ,levels and dimensions as per
requirements of clause 301.07 MORT & H .The Excavated material will be removed from
the area and if found suitable, utilized in embankment / Subgrade construction. All
Unsuitable material will be disposed at selected location. If any Hard rock found, it will be
cleared by control blasting. All exposed trench bottom shall be suitably compacted to
receive PCC concrete.
4.0 REINFORCEMENT:
Reinforcement steel of grade Fe-500 (TMT) confirming to IS 1786 will be useful. Bar
bending schedule will be prepared and got approval before actual cutting and bending
works commence .Specification furnished in section 1600 of MORT&H and Technical
specification of reinforcement will be followed.

The formwork will be constructed so as to remain sufficient rigid during making &
compaction of concrete and will be such as to prevent loss of slurry from the concrete. The
forms will not be released until the concrete attains the final setting time .The removal of
formwork will be done s per MORT&H clause 1508.
6.0 CONCRETING:
1. After Completion of excavation, the levels will be checked jointly and PCC M-15 grade
will be poured.
2. All the grades of concrete will be transported from concrete batching plant. Pouring of
concrete will be done with the chutes.
3. After laying the PCC, It will be cured for at least 3 days and reinforcement must be
placed as per approved Bar bending schedule.
4. Shuttering plates of standard size will be used for outside shuttering for raft. All the joints
will be properly sealed, sealed tapes; foam will be used in order to prevent leakage of
slurry. The concrete of required grade will be poured and curing will be done for 14
days.
5. After completion of Shuttering & steel binding, raft wall concrete will be poured.
6. After finishing of wall concrete precast slabs will be placed on the finished drain. The
dimensions and grades of concrete for the precast concrete slabs will be as per
approved drawings. The precast slabs will be cast in our camp area. Curing of covers
labs will be carried out by sprinkling of water. Curing shall be continuing for a period of
14 days .Cured slabs shall be transported to site by trucks.
7. Cover slabs shall be place in position on already cast extended width of drain as per
approved cross sections .The slabs shall be placed in construction length without
leaving any gaps.

All the quality control tests will be as per MORT&H clause 900 of technical
specifications.
8.0 MANPOWER:
Sufficient force of skilled, semiskilled and unskilled will be deployed at site for each
activity. A qualified engineer with supervisor will be supervising all the activities and will
work on direction of Engineer’s representative
2. Signboards shall be placed along the right hand side on increasing Chainage at every
PROGRESS”.
3. Moveable signboards shall be place at area where heavy machineries and survey works
being carried out. The movement of machines and lorries at these areas shall be
