FOREWORD
International Committee of Citizen Diplomacy (ICCD) is engaged in realization of youth educational projects that aimed at promotion of the rule of law, democratic principles of interaction between
state and society, youth involvement into decision- making process, first of all, at local level.
This publication contains the results of a survey on the current gender policy both nationally and internationally. We intend to inform a widest audience on the existence and functionality of
institutions concerned with promoting women's rights, strengthening the principle of equality between men and women, etc.
In this context, there have been selected few pages relevant of activities of institutions, which are focused, generally, on enhancing women's status in society, encouraging them and participating
Conclusions in social, political, economic, and cultural life.
We considered that it is necessary to present a brief sociological statistics involving women and men in public life. Each institution which is included in this brochure refers to mission, their goal of
establishment, and the main activities carried out at the last period of time.
Women's participation, along with men in political, economic, social and cultural life is a positive phenomenon for all countries. This can be easily demonstrated by statistical analysis of female The publication is addressed to young people interested in the topic, and all readers motivated to contribute productively to qualitative changes in everyday life.
participation in government and political structures, in administration economic affairs, in managing institutions of education.
Or, especially these help promote new ideas, democratic values able to develop humanity in a constructive, transparent and fair formula.
Thus, training young people in gender equality, democracy and culture issue contribute to refocus their mentality in a totally new era for transition societies, its consequences would be felt over
time, certainly for all of us.
Promoting women's participation by national and international NGOs is positive and very constructive phenomenon for the youth. Indifference and pessimism shown by pupils / students
graduating from high school / higher education institutions still prevails. This is due to the lack of a functional national policy for women, mostly caused by us.
Obvious trends shown by the organizations (reflected in the status, purpose and mission) have led to some results. However, this depends on the change of people's mentality, which can not be
accomplished in a short period of time. CONTENTS:
In this regard, we welcome and even encourage non-governmental institutions to continue their work as they do know better, wishing them luck and achievements and in the future, too.
This brochure is published within the project "Youth for gender policy: Together we succeed".
