STEP 1: Contact Internet provider to obtain Static IP address for modem/internet connection.
STEP 2: Obtain the IP address of router from operator’s manual provided by manufacturer.
STEP 3: Enter Gateway IP address obtained from internet provider into router/modem.
STEP 4: Setup router to pass UDP port 2100, this is specific for each router, and is typically found in the advanced
settings.
NOTE: You may not limit a network to be larger than its class.
Example:
Class A can be setup like a class A, B, or C level network with that many devices/hosts.
Class B can be setup like a class B or C level network with that many devices/hosts.
Class C can only be setup with class C level of devices/hosts.
Example:
Subnet for router IP of 192.168.1.1 subnet mask would be 255.255.255.0 (default mask)
NOTE: A router is typically Class C so there can only be 256 different IP addresses.
Example:
With the example of IP address of router 192.168.1.1
EVX-LINK may be IP address 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.254
NOTE: Define which IP address is utilized and each device must have a unique address. EVX-Link is one (1) device.
