I 240W A Datasheet
The Alcatel-Lucent I-240W-A Indoor Optical Network Terminal(ONT) with 4 Gigabit Ethernet,2POTS
and IEEE802.11b/g/n Wireless is part of the industry leading Alcatel-Lucent 7342/7360 ISAM FTTx
product family. It is designed to deliver triple play services with high bandwidth capacity to homes
where mutiple Ethernet ports, voice and wireless required which make the multi-media and flexible
access possible and terminates a Full Service Access Network(FSAN)-Compliant GPON fiber interface.
Overview
To deliver triple-play services to the subscriber in Fiber-to-the-Home or Fiber-to-the-Premises
application, the GPON ONT I-240W-A as a Home gateway incorporates interoperability, key customer’s
specific requirements and flexible services access.
Equipped with ITU-T G.984 compliant 2.5G Downstream and 1.25G upstream GPON interface, the I-
240W-A ONT supports the full Triple Play of services including voice, video, and high speed internet
access and works as residential gateway to support home networking.
Compliant with standard OMCI definition and BBF TR-069, The ONT I-240W-A can be manageable at
remote side via AMS and TR-069 based ACS and supports the full range FCAPS functions including
supervision, monitoring and maintenance.
Services
Data
The I-240W-A ONT supports up to four 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet data interfaces, supporting:
Auto-negotiation and MDI/MDIX auto sensing
Data transferring at wire-speed for all packet size
Built-in Layer 2 switch
Advanced data features such as VLAN tag manipulation, classification and filtering
2.4GHz wireless interface
2 USB Interface

Voice
The I-240W-A ONT supports up to two POTS interface ports for carrier grade voice services, supporting:
5 REN per line, balanced ring at 55V RMS, DTMF dialing
Multiple voice codec
Echo canceling, VAD, CNG
Various CLASS services – Caller ID, Call waiting, Call forwarding, Call transfer, etc.
SIP (RFC3261)
Video
The I-240W-A ONT supports video contents delivered in the form of data (by multicast or unicast).
In case where multicast technology is used for delivering video contents through data channel, the
ONT supports the dedicated multicast GEM port on the Downstream, so the video contents are
received and processed by all the ONTs through the unified channel and this greatly improves the
bandwidth efficiency.
In addition, the ONT supports works as IGMP proxy function to be applied for further optimization. The
ONT monitors the member joining and leaving activities at any of the four Ethernet service ports
concurrently and also any WIFI SSID, and then selectively delivers the multicast streams. Fast leave
function is supported for enhancing the efficiency of bandwidth.
