The Quilt Story

It seems that I often come back to stars

as an element in the patterns I design.
There's just something about them that
takes me back to the work of our
foremothers and those rich fabrics of
the mid-1800s.

I'm also drawn to sampler quilts with

their array of traditional blocks and the
fun interaction of multiple patterns

The combination of both stars and

sampler blocks became a goal for me
in this design, as well as the use of the
courthouse steps variation in the alternate blocks. I love that it gives the illusion of an on-point
setting without side setting triangles!

The coziness of autumn colors made this a natural for a fall quilt offering.

My mom's favorite season was fall, along with all its wonderful hues, and this quilt reminds me of
her. She taught me so much, and I am so grateful to her for the love of creativity that she
encouraged and cultivated in me.

I hope you enjoy making this delightful quilt.
