Picture Day - Take Two!

Picture Day Retakes and Make-ups, as well as Sibling Photos will be on Friday, November
19th!

Your child should receive their school portraits this week. If you are dissatisfied with the
portraits and would like another try, you have the opportunity for a retake!

Retakes - There is no form to fill out. Simply have your child return the undamaged portrait
package to the photographer on their scheduled day. If you have specific instructions for the
photographer, please jot them down so that they show through the envelope window and
can be easily spotted. Retake packages will be distributed at school approximately 3-5
weeks following retake day.

Coffee Pond offers a full refund if you are dissatisfied with your photos. For full refund
information, please visit www.coffeepond.com or email at lifeguards@coffeepond.com.

Make-Ups - If your child missed Picture Day in October and you would like to have their
individual photo taken, please fill out an order form online at www.coffeepond.com and
click on the big red button that says “Order School Portraits.”
Sibling Photos - If you are interested in sibling photos, please fill out an order form online at
www.coffeepond.com and click on the big red button that says “Order School Portraits.”
Please fill out “sibling (last name)” for the name rather than the individual student’s name. For
the online form, simply select any child’s grade/teacher as something needs to be filled out
to submit the form.

To help us coordinate Sibling Pictures across various classrooms and grades, please fill out
this short form by Thursday, November 18th.

Email Stephanie.Schwarz@gmail.com with any questions.

PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports):

If you have been in the building recently, you may have noticed a School Wide Matrix on the
monitor in the main lobby. This matrix is a part of our PBIS program that initially started two
years ago and explains the behavioral expectations in the shared spaces at Bishop.

Teachers, staff, and our 3th-5th grade students collaborated as they identified the specific
expectations found within the matrix..

We took a break last year because of the hybrid model.

This year, we have rolled out School Wide expectations to all teachers, staff, and students,
and will continue the work to ensure our shared spaces in our building are safe and
supportive.

PBIS is also being implemented in Thompson, Hardy, and Gibbs.

BISHOP PTO NEWS AND UPDATES

Town Wide Pumpkin Recycling

Thank you to everyone who brought their Halloween pumpkins and
Jack-O-Lanterns to Bishop for the Great Pumpkin Rescue! This is the 4th year of this
town-wide effort to recycle and compost pumpkins. Black Earth estimated that
12,500 lbs of pumpkins were collected. In terms of volume, that is about 30 cubic
yards of material. All of these pumpkins were diverted from incineration, which is
something to celebrate because it greatly reduces greenhouse gas emissions!

A big thank you to Arlington DPW for covering the cost of this annual collection!

Support the Arlington EATS Food Drive

My name is Maeve Padien. I am one of Arlington’s representatives to Project 351. Two
years ago I was selected by Arlington to serve for Project 351. Project 351 is a service
organization that instills a passion for leadership, community, and service to our own
communities. Started by Governor Deval Patrick in 2011, every year Project 351
brings change to Massachusetts. Throughout high school as a member of Project
351, I will lead younger students through their own Ambassador Program as an older
member of Project 351.

Every year students run service projects in their own towns. For Fall Service, I lead a
food drive in partnership with the Arlington food pantry, Arlington EATS, to fight local
hunger. Our community has the ability to prevent hunger in Arlington and make sure
no child goes hungry. I am running this food drive with the support of Project 351 as
COVID-19 has perpetuated the situation.

This drive will span across multiple elementary schools: Peirce School, Bishop
School, Dallin School, and Hardy School. At each of these locations, there will be a
collection bin in the lobby. Please do not donate opened items and check to make
sure they are not expired. Also, please avoid donations that include small individual
packages such as mini cereal boxes. Arlington EATS cannot take them.

The dates of the drive are Monday, November 15th through Friday, December 10th.
If you would prefer to have your donations picked up, this form will sign you up.
Every donation goes directly to Arlington EATS and into our community. If you have
any questions, please email us at arlington351@gmail.com. More information is
attached on this slideshow.

Below are the items Arlington EATS needs most. All donations are greatly
appreciated, but if you can, please focus on these items.

Most Needed Items

● Soup
● Cereal (especially Cheerios)
● Cake mix
● Laundry detergent
● Shelf-stable soy or almond milk
● Hygiene products

Thank you so much for your support.
