An Application Letter

A letter of application, also known as a cover letter, is a document sent with your resume to provide additional
information on your skills and experience.

A letter of application typically provides detailed information on why you are qualified for the job you are applying
for. Effective application letters explain the reasons for your interest in the specific organization and identify your
most relevant skills or experiences.

Your application letter should let the employer know what position you are applying for, why the employer should
select you for an interview, and how you will follow-up.

As with all cover letters, a job application letter is divided into sections:

 The heading. The heading should include your name and contact information, the date and the company
name and address.
 A greeting addressed to a specific person, if possible.
 The introduction, which should include why the applicant is writing, mention the job you are applying for and
where you found the listing.
 The body, which discusses your relevant qualifications and your past experiences.
 The close, which thanks the reader and provides contact information and follow-up details.
 Your signature to end the letter.

newspaper won the award for the Best Student Newspaper in the state for two years in a
row. I am confident that my proven skills will help me to contribute to RuangKoran's
success.
