DR-ID 1200 (FDR D-EVOII) Product Specifications

1. Overview DR-ID 1200 (FDR D-EVO II) is digital radiography equipment, which employs an
indirect-conversion FPD with FUJIFILM’s unique Irradiation Side Sampling system
(hereinafter “ISS system”).

The flat panel sensor of this system has compatible size with conventional FUJIFILM
IP Cassette, which enables to perform examination not only by itself but also by the
combination with the existing radiographic table/stand (even sharing one FPD).

2. Features (1) Light-weight, thin and roundish design of the flat panel sensor facilitates lifting
and enhances operability, for example, when it is set under a patient lying on a
bed.

(2) By utilizing FUJIFILM’s proprietary ISS (Irradiation Side Sampling) method,

vapor deposition technique of CsI scintillator, particle blend technique of GOS
scintillator, and also noise reduction IC, images with high sensitivity and high
sharpness are obtained even in low-density areas.

(3) After an X-ray irradiation process is completed, the exposed image appears on
the monitor of the image processing unit in about one second at the shortest. In
addition, since images are compressed with our unique compression
technology (CIP) during communication especially in wireless operation,
exposures can be made efficiently at short intervals.

(4) The flat panel sensor has sleep mode and extra sleep mode. This power-saving
design minimizes the need of replacing the battery pack. In addition, since a
removable battery pack is adopted, it can be replaced even if the battery runs
down.

(5) The docking stand and the optional battery charger assist smooth exposure
operations. The system can be used even in emergency since only 3 minutes of
charge time are required to make about 30 exposures.
1
(6) Up to 100※ images can be stored temporarily in the memory of the flat panel
sensor. The memory exposure mode can be activated easily by operating the
button on the back of the flat panel sensor. Even if the image processing unit is
not available, exposures can be made only by using the flat panel sensor.
※1 DR-ID1213SE can be stored 200 images.

(7) Extended Image Readout enables a long exposure for up to ten seconds.
※DR-ID1213SE is not corresponding with Extended Image Readout.

(8) The flat panel sensor can be handled hygienically as the antimicrobial coating is
applied for its housing component.

(9) Since the external dimensions and thickness of the flat panel sensor are the
same as those of existing cassette for general exposure (compliant with ISO
4090), the flat panel sensor can be loaded onto the exposure stand that has
been used. In addition, since operation on battery power and wireless
communication are available, one flat panel sensor can be used for multiple

Z30N1182H
1
DR-ID 1200 (FDR D-EVOII) Product Specifications

devices such as upright type and supine-position type radiography devices.

(10) The flat panel sensor has the X-ray automatic detection function (SmartSwitch).
With this function, the flat panel sensor detects even a small amount of X-ray
precisely to start an exposure without connecting it to the X-ray device.

(11) The flat panel sensor corresponds to 2.4GHz and 5GHz wireless frequency
band. ※Use appropriate frequency band by following radio act of each country.

(12) By combination of image processing unit for notebook PC and FUJIFILM’s

access point, it can be used as a mobile system no need of carrying cables.

(13) Up to 100 flat panel sensors can be registered. Among the registered flat panel
sensors, up to five flat panel sensors can be used.

(14) On each side of the flat panel sensor, there is an LED showing the center
position. The color of this LED can be selected from among five colors (orange,
purple, lime yellow, blue and pink). When multiple flat panel sensors are used,
they can be identified with the color of the LED. In addition, the battery pack
level can always be checked with the indicator LED on the back of the flat panel
sensor.

(15) Since the flat panel sensor can be shared with multiple systems, the number of
flat panel sensors can be optimized.

(16) The flat panel sensor does not require calibration by users, enabling them to
start exposures without performing complicated procedures.

(17) The mobile system combined with image processing unit for notebook PC and
FUJIFILM’s access point, the panel can be registered by using function of
wireless bridge and only set panel to the docking stand.

6.2 Image Procedure after an exposure

Reading – (1) Scintillator converts the incident X-ray to visible light, and which is read at photo
Film Output conductor and converted to digital signals.
The digital signals are transmitted to the image processing unit, and converted to
the image signals by performing the final image processing to be displayed as an
image.
*In memory exposure mode, the digital signals are transmitted to the image
processing unit when a flat panel is wire connected and image reading is
performed.
(2) These digital signals can be transmitted to DMS, DICOM device through the
network of the image processing unit. These signals are transmitted to image

(2) Intended environment:
Room size of 10m x 10m x 3m (32.8 ft. x 32.8 ft. x 9.8 ft.) (height) or less (general X-ray
room) (The electric shield does not exist excluding the installation stand or bed.)
(3) Installation:
The flat panel sensor, Access Point (Hereafter “AP”) and wireless bridge (When wireless
in connection between DS and AP) must be installed in the same room. Do not install AP
and wireless bridge within the reach of patients. Do not place more than one AP or
wireless bridge in the same room.
Do not place devices generating electromagnetic wave (CT, MRI, diathermy, RFID etc.)
near this equipment.
We recommend not to use any other wireless devices such as cellular/smartphones,
portable phones, microwave ovens, WAPs, etc. within 2m (6.6 ft.) of the wireless D-EVO
system.
Do not change the position of the access point once installed, except FUJIFILM’s access
point.
Do not cover the areas of the transmitting parts (TP) for the wireless signal on the flat
panel sensor, which the measurements are shown in the figures below (thickness of the
FPD x length of the transmitting parts), with shields such as metallic plate.

FUJIFILM’s access point must be installed on the outer surface of the image processing
unit or mobile X-ray equipment, not in the cassette storage box.
FUJIFILM’s access point must be installed with its LED face up on the outer surface of
the image processing unit or mobile X-ray equipment.
The LED of FUJIFILM’s access point must not be covered with a radio wave shield such
as a metal plate.
In an open space of a hospital, the flat panel sensor and FUJIFILM’s access point must
be placed within 10m from each other. If they are out of this range, a wireless
communication error may occur.

(4) Information being transmitted:

X-ray Control Signal (Prep-SW, Shot-SW)
System Control Signal, (Img_req_CMD, etc.)
Image Data (Raw data Before Image processing) (Note: Patient Information is not
transmitted by wireless interface.)
(5) Wireless range:
Max. 10m (32.8 ft.) from the Access point as tested. Actual range may vary.
(6) Data transfer rate:
35Mbps (This value is FUJIFILM measuring result of wireless module and actual data
rate may vary.)
(7) Transfer Power:
MAX 17dBm *This value is the result of FUJIFILM’s measurement and may be different
from the actual signal speed.
(8) Modulation:
OFDM (Provided by IEEE802.11n standard)
(9) Wireless Data Security:
Wireless D-EVO II system will be utilizing the IEEE standard 802.11.n at the 2.4GHz, and
5GHz frequency, which will allow us a maximum wireless signal rate of up to 35Mbps.
The Wireless Access Point (WAP) has a feature that limits the maximum number of users
per Access Point to ensure data integrity. Further the WAP has MAC Address Filtering
(unique IP address) and Wireless LAN Segmentation to ensure handshaking with only
the registered wireless D-EVO flat panel sensors (DR-ID 1201SE/DR-ID 1202SE/DR-ID
1211SE/DR-ID 1212SE/DR-ID1213SE). In addition to the MAC address filtering, the
wireless communication between the flat panel sensor and the wireless access point is
secured by WPA2-PSK encryption with AES (Advanced Encryption Standard). Also, by
setting AP, the “stealth” function to make ESS-ID invisible than the other wireless device
can be set by FUJIFILM field service engineer.
The encryption and with or without stealth function can be selected at the time of setting
by FUJIFILM field service engineer. No patient information is transmitted between the flat
panel sensor and Wireless Access Point.
(10) Handshaking / Pairing:
The Wireless Access Point and a flat panel sensor as well as wireless bridge will be
paired during installation by a FUJIFILM field service engineer to ensure the wireless
connection. FUJIFILM field service engineer will measure the wireless transmission
speed during installation to find the best position of the wireless access point and the
