ECN Cellular Network Booster Modem

The document discusses the development of an "ECN Cellular Network Booster Modem" to address poor cellular network coverage in some areas of the Philippines. It notes that many residents, especially in exclusive areas, suffer from weak or no cell phone signals, impacting communication, work, education, and more. The proposed solution is a cellular network booster modem that can be attached in homes to boost signal strength from cell towers for improved coverage. Test results showed the booster increased signal strength for various mobile operators in 4G and 5G bands. The booster aims to help more Filipinos by providing a mini signal booster for their own use.

Background of the Study

There are places in the Philippines that has a poor connection, and many citizens are
suffering from the signal problems because not all the area are scope of a cell site tower. There
are numerous complaints of poor cell phone signal from residents of these country, where most
of the people are from the A-class of our society or expatriates working for their respective
embassies or for multinational companies in the Philippines. Especially now that we are on
pandemic situation that it is necessity to have a cellphone signal for communication, works,
careers and online education. The main problem is that there are no cell sites inside these
exclusive areas. We understand that the technology behind mobile phones and cell phone
coverage is dependent on the distance of the user from the cell sites of the mobile phone
provider. The farther the distance, the lesser the quality of the cell phone signal. The same is true
for those who use their mobile phones for data services, such as browsing the Internet and
checking e-mails, which require more bandwidth than the voice and text messaging services.
That is why we come up to an idea of a cellular network booster so that we can help people in
the Philippines to have their own mini signal booster that they can attach in their homes. With
that modem that gives cellphone signals to our phone it has a large impact to every Filipinos
because of the signal problem on different areas. If you have usable signal outside your home,
vehicle, or office building, but weak to no signal inside, then a cell booster will improve your
cell service and signal strength. The notion of eliminating dropped phone calls, poor data speeds,
and unsent text messages without having to connect to Wi-Fi, argue with your carrier, or transfer
carriers has many people wondering how mobile signal boosters operate. We have to conclude
that the booster that works for all type of Telecom operators present in Philippines. Mainly they
worked for all 4G and 5G bands. Here the output can be obtained by your mobile phone signal
status in that mobile strength has to change. Actually, mobile strength is from -60dbm to
-140dbm. -60dbm means the best signal, -140dbm means poor signal. From the experiment we
concluded that the mobile strength has been decreased in value that means increased in the signal
strength. As part of the paper, we concluded that the signal booster has increased signal strength
of the different Telecom operators in 4G and 5G range.
