Reflection:

My most important takeaways about this lesson is that the modern English language is one
of the most important language to learn in today. Understanding the English language can be a vital
part of improving the world better as it is considered the universal language, and we all know that
communication has a huge role especially for the global professionals. This language came from being
the “Old English” which is very different and it did not look or sound like the English today. Then there
was the “middle English” that time, English became dominant in Britain again but with many French
words added in it. Then it became the “modern English” from years 1500-1800, and lastly the “Late
Modern English which came from years 1800 up to the present.

Furthermore, English has a major role in business, various transactions or other important events
especially for us Filipinos because we consider it as our official second language next to Tagalog. I also
discovered that English was composed by other different language around the world including Latin,
French, Germanic, and Greek languages. Although this language is very broad, I think we can still
learns to understand and speak English as long as we pay attention to the basic or simple words first
before discovering the complicated parts of it.
