to perform a programme of works by Estonia’s leading composers Arvo Pärt
and Veljo Tormis under the baton of their founder and artistic director

Concluding the season will be, the highly acclaimed French ensemble
Quatuor Ébène whose brilliance will be matched by one of Ireland’s finest
pianists Finghin Collins in Brahms’ Piano Quintet bringing the season to a
fitting end as we celebrate Irish and International talent together on stage.

A member of the celebrated Kanneh-Mason dynasty, she


enjoys a successful and increasingly busy concert career as
a solo artist, with concerto appearances, solo recitals and
chamber concerts throughout the UK and further afield. 
She also continues to perform with her siblings, including
regular duo recitals with her brother, the cellist, Sheku
Kanneh-Mason.

ensembles, the Hallé, who have a long-distinguished
history of acclaimed and inspiring performances, makes a
much-anticipated return to the National Concert Hall for this
performance. On this occasion they will be joined on stage
by the Bulgarian conductor, Delyana Lazarova, praised
for her passionate performances and dynamic presence.
A committed advocate for new music, she conducts the
Orchestra in her compatriot Dobrinka Tabakova’s deeply
expressive Cello Concerto performed by soloist Guy
Johnston alongside Mozart’s Haffner and Tchaikovsky’s
glorious Pathétique, which the composer declared he had

The distinguished French pianist and honorary Irishman,


Philippe Cassard, won Irish hearts when he swept the boards
at the inaugural Dublin International Piano Competition in
1988. In celebration of his 60th birthday, Philippe has invited
an impressive collective of musical friends to celebrate this
milestone with him on the stage of his home away from
home, the National Concert Hall.

A truly celebratory programme with a strong French flavour,


the performance features music by Debussy, Fauré and
Poulenc and texts by poets Paul Verlaine and Louise de
Vilmorin, combined with an evocative work for 4-hands by
Robert Schumann and Schubert’s elegant “Trout” Quintet.

For this celebratory concert, Philippe will be joined by a


stellar cast of well-known and much-loved musicians for
what is sure to be a musical triumph and a concert not to
be missed.

2022, 8pm In March 2020, husband and wife, Tom Poster and Elena
Urioste, made the decision to record and share one music
video for every day they would spend in isolation as a result
of the COVID-19 pandemic. They named their pandemic
project, #UriPosteJukeBox, a portmanteau of their last names
and a nod to a more nostalgic way of enjoying music.

The trailblazing Kaleidoscope Chamber Collective is


an ensemble of joyful and passionate musicians from
around the world whose aim is to inspire audiences of all
generations and bring happiness and unity to our current
fractured world. Like many musicians, these exceptional
artists spend a lot of time reflecting on the world today
and its impacts on humanity. They strongly believe that
chamber music has the transformative power to bring
people together, uniting musicians as equals, and drawing
listeners into its intimate, immersive world. They will bring their
love of music to the National Concert Hall in an uplifting
programme featuring music by Antonín Dvořák, and to mark

The exhilarating Chineke! Orchestra comprises


exceptional musicians from around the world, united in their
pursuit to level the playing field for all young musicians and
create a vibrant new generation of professional musicians
of all colours. Founded in 2015 by the pioneering double
bass player, Chi-chi Nwanoku OBE, Chineke! is about
‘championing change and celebrating diversity in
classical music’.

Since making its BBC Proms début at the Royal Albert Hall
in 2017, Chineke! Orchestra has gone on to perform at
leading venues and festivals across the UK, Europe and
beyond. In this their welcome Irish début at the National
Concert Hall, these true catalysts for change continue
their mission to amplify the compositional voices of Black
composers offering Irish audiences an important and
special opportunity to enjoy a rich tapestry of works by
Samuel Coleridge-Taylor, George Walker and Florence Price
performed alongside a pillar of the symphonic repertoire,
Antonín Dvořák’s much-loved “New World” Symphony.

One of the world’s leading vocal ensembles, the Estonian


Philharmonic Chamber Choir (EPCC) make a welcome
return to the National Concert Hall following its much-lauded
performance to mark 100 years since Estonia’s first period of
independence in 2018. On this occasion these outstanding
musicians share the stage with their founder, artistic director

continue to take the musical world by storm.

In this their National Concert Hall début, their trademark


charismatic playing and fresh approach to string quartet
repertoire will be palpable in the pairing of highly expressive
works for the genre by Purcell and Ligeti, and a much
anticipated collaboration with Irish pianist, Finghin Collins in
Brahms’ exhilarating Piano Quintet. A performance bound to
bring the 2022 International Concert Series to a truly magical
and rousing conclusion.
