Final Lesson Plans
Final Lesson Plans
Specific Objectives: At the end of this class students would be able to:
i. Explain the effects of burning fossil fuels and releasing greenhouse gases
in the air.
Previous Knowledge:
i. From which type of pollution diseases of throat, skin and eyes are
caused?
ii. Which type of water is dangerous for the life of aquatic animals?
iii. Which type of fruits and vegetables are obtained from polluted land, are
they healthy?
iv. Which type of pollution can cause lung diseases and allergies?
Announcing the Topic: Today we are going to learn about “GREENHOUSE EFFECT”
Presentation:
1) Introduction:
i. What are fuels? (Burning material producing heat and gases)
ii. Which gas is usually released from the burning of fuels? (Carbon dioxide)
iii. What are greenhouse gases?
2) Activity No.1:
1. Review the term fossil fuels and their burning.
2. Which type of fuels they usually use in their homes.
3. These are coal, gas, and wood.
4. Carbon dioxide and other gases are released which increase the
temperature of the environment and these gases are called greenhouse
gases.
3) Activity No.2:
1. Facilitate the students to understand the greenhouse effect with the help
of a poster, which would be developed by the students from the textbook.
2. A greenhouse effect (fig) on page 52 will be referred to them.
This situation is produced from the effect of greenhouse gases, which increase
the temperature of the environment, resulting in the melting of ice and mass
floods.

Recapitulation:
Homework:
• Name and write a few fossil fuels, which are used and name as greenhouse
gases.

Topic of the Lesson: “FOOD CHAIN”
General Objectives: At the end of this lesson, students would be able to know:
Specific Objectives: At the end of this class students would be able to:
Previous Knowledge:
Announcing the Topic: Today we are going to learn about “FOOD CHAIN”
Presentation:
1) Introduction:
i. Some questions on food of Animals:
• What do the plants eat?
• What does a man eat?
• What does a rabbit eat?
• What is the food of a lion?
ii. Facilitate students in getting the responses to the questions.
iii. After finding the responses to the above questions announce the topic
as: “Relationships in simple food chains”
2) Activity No.1:
1. Discussion on the term food which is essential for animals and plants.
2. Asking some questions:
• Who eats the grass?
• Who eats the deer?
• What is the lion’s food?
3. Discuss the above questions to let the children understand the
dependence of animals and plants on each other.
4. The plants prepare their own food and is called “Producers”. Some
animals eat plants and others eat animals as their food. Those animals
which use plants as food are called “Herbivores”. Those animals which use
other animals as their food are called “Carnivores”. Those animals which
eat both plants and animals as food are called “Omnivores”. Thus
herbivores, carnivores, and omnivores also form a chain of food.
5. After this discussion on the food chain and various components involved
in the food chain, sum up the lesson for the 1st activity. Ask about some
food chains which they locally observe. For example, rabbits and deer, eat
grains, vegetables which are obtained from plants, Deer, Rabbits, Deer are
eaten by the lion. Thus, a simple food chain is formed.
6. The animals and plants depend on one another for their food. This
interdependence of animals and plants for food is called a food chain.
3) Activity No.2:
1. Discuss the names of herbivores, carnivores, and omnivores animals and
will develop the Venn diagram on the board as shown on page 25 of the
book.
