Hey there , I know you are a rockstar . You have fought a long battle to reach here ,
studying for 20 years - remember from pre nursery till 10th , then 12th and now
Graduation - Soon , this is going to end , so let’s have the best fruit that we deserve for
all the hardwork of 20 years !! You are amazing and deserve the best !
(This document has been prepared by consultation with past year Amazon WoW selects
for Internships and Full Time Roles at Amazon)
So let’s start with the complete process on to what is being asked and how you should
start your preparation.This is the process as per last year (there might be some changes
this year) :
Step I : Application - Resume and CGPA are asked (Prepare your resume well and
beforehand , If you are unsure of that I have a video for resume https://youtu.be/6-

Step II : Mails Received , You being accepted to the program and hence the mentorship
cum Knowledge webinars covering Interview Tips , Various DS Algos , Amazon
Principles and Leadership.
Step III (Most Crucial) : Major shortlisting happens in this round and this is an Online
Assessment (Amazon conducts its Online Assessment majorly on mettl or amcat (do
checkout these platforms)). The Test Pattern :
● 28 MCQs (Majorly DSA focussed and some CS fundamentals basics)

● 2 Coding Questions (Medium Level - Leetcode and GFG types , relatively easier
than most OAs , as per experience of majority of the candidates )
(For Online Assessment , the pattern keeps changing in Amazon , sometimes Aptitude
Questions are asked , Some times debugging questions are asked as well - so cant
actually predict the actual pattern).
Step IV (Tech Round - 1 F2F ) : Basic checks on your DS Algos , would be asked to code
on a Code-Pair and the level of questions is relatively easier - but again depends upon
the interviewer . Topics in focus - Strings , Graphs , Bitmasking and DP .This is also an
elimination Round.
Step V (Tech Round -2 F2F ) : Data Structures and Algos Intensive . Generally 2-3
Questions are asked and production level code is expected . Major focus on Trees ,
Graphs , DP and Hashing . This is also an elimination Round. In some cases OS has been
asked here aswell.
Step VI (Tech -3 F2F ) : Some DSA and focus on CS Fundamentals - OS , DBMS and
Computer Networks. Although doesn’t want you to have very indepth knowledge but
yes , you should be good at basics.
Step VI (HR Manager or Senior Leadership ): Focus on your resume and Projects that you
have done, Maybe some basic DS Algos as well and General HR Questions (Make sure to
be well aware of the principles of Amazon )
Important points to keep in mind for all interviews :
1. The interviewers are very helpful , they will try to help you at all times and also , if
stuck try to take hints from them .
2. Don’t stay quiet and think , Try to speak and interact with the interviewer even
when you are thinking any approach.
3. The number of rounds vary from person to person even for Full Time and for
Internships. For some , for an Internship it had just 2 rounds and for some 3-4.
4. For full time , generally 3-4 rounds are conducted.
5. The process takes a longer time as you will be receiving he results of subsequent
rounds after a few days, so be patient and keep your preparation going on!
6. The Online assessment is the major hurdle as most shortlisting is done there.

1. For Data Structures and Algos : Would suggest you to cover in the following way
if you wish to start :
- Data Structures and Algos - by Narsimha Karumanchi
- Watch Tutorials of these topics from various Youtube Channels that can
help :
For Trees : Sumit Malik Sir- Pepcoding
For Dynamic Programming - Aditya verma Sir
For Graphs - takeUforward by Striver
Other topics you can cover from any other tutorials but major thing comes
is how to practise!
Leetcode : Try solving questions with Amazon tag (Atleast 5 questions per day
until it starts)
Geeks for Geeks : with Amazon Filter :

Try giving Leetcode Weekly and Biweekly contests , they are very helpful for preparation
as the level in those is similar to Amazon.
2. For CS Fundamentals
OS and DBMS - Gate Smashers / Knowledge Gate both can be considered.

3. Projects : 1-2 Good Projects - in an domain would be sufficient , make sure you
know them inside out!
4. Mock Tests - tests in the similar format as Amazon has been conducting , I will
soon be conducting the tests consisting of some questions asked by Amazon in
the previous years and making sure that you practise the things well (Mock Tests
have been helping us all from the IIT-JEE time :p )
Make sure , you fill the form , I will be sending the invites as per the schedule we

Important Points while preparing :

1. Make sure that you practise atleast some questions everyday without a miss.
2. Make you notes for CS Fundamentals so that you can revise a day before the
interviews.
3. Also , try writing down certain tough algorithms for revision later on.
4. Most importantly , keep calm and stay focussed . Drink a lot of water and stay
hydrated , Will help you concentrate better!
