Unit purpose/application
This unit of competency specifies the outcomes required to develop and implement policies
and procedures to continuously support resource efficiency and environmentally
sustainable work practices.
This unit of competency applies to those with managerial responsibility for developing
approaches to create strategies within workplaces, including the development and
implementation of policy. The unit supports processes and techniques necessary to develop
approaches to sustainability within workplaces, including the development and
implementation of policy.
The context of this unit applies to all industry sectors and sections within an organisation,
including a work site, designated work area, in transit and/or an office.

Collusion:
Collusion means unauthorised collaboration on assessable work (written, oral or practical)

Collusion may be with another RTO student or with individuals or students external to the
RTO. This applies to work assessed by any educational and training body in Australia or
overseas.

• Work with one or more people to prepare and produce work

• Offer to complete work or seek payment for completing academic work for other
students.
Both collusion and plagiarism can occur in group work. For examples of plagiarism, collusion

Feedback to student
Feedback on students’ assessment performance is a vital element in their learning. Its
purpose is to justify to students how their competency was assessed, as well as to identify
and reward specific qualities in their work, to recommend aspects needing improvement,
and to guide students on what steps to take.
Feedback defines for students what their trainer/assessor thinks is important for a topic or a
subject. At its best, feedback should:

manager at the organisation given in the scenario.
You must identify and analyse the information given in the scenario to develop
sustainability policy and procedures.
You are required to prepare a presentation after preparing the sustainability policy
and gain agreement to policy options and implementation plan from relevant senior
managers.
You must prepare 8-10 slides of the sustainability policy and procedure developed.
You must include the following particulars in the footer section of each page of the
attached sheets:

In this assessment task, you are required to develop workplace sustainability policy for the
organisation given in the scenario.
Scenario:
Green Building and Construction Pty. Ltd is a well-known construction company in your
state. The company is known for its quality and sustainable construction. The main issues
that the company is facing is inappropriate usage of resources such as water, energy and
construction material that is increasing the cost of construction of the projects. The
company wants to take one step further into their progress and move to modular
construction so that the company can minimise the resource usage. Along with the
economic benefits, modular building processes will reduce the environmental impact of
construction by generating less waste, causing less site disturbance and reusing and
recycling more materials.
The company also wants to reduce the energy consumption, become more energy efficient
and use renewable energy and 'alternative technology. The company is lot more specific
about:
Going back to the design process and create more energy efficient designs,
considering the energy required for humans to use buildings.
Seek to make existing buildings more energy efficient.
Use local materials/workforce/energy to reduce transport.
Use more low energy/ energy saving materials.
Recycle more in order to save the energy used to transport and dispose of waste,
