were pumped up considerably as a factor of that
offense, though. Corral was the lowest-graded
quarterback included in this guide on throws into
tight windows last year. We need to see fewer
"duds" in 2021.

Corral has been extremely susceptible to having his throwing lanes undercut

last fall, Daniels finally looked like the player we
were promised. If he performs for a full season,
we can start talking about first-round hype.

passing grades over 90.0 at the intermediate and deep levels.
What’s His
ROLE… VERTICAL PASSER
Daniels' eyes have had a tendency to drift deep ever since his freshman year. He
has posted an average depth of target 11.3 yards downfield for his career.

Daniels' indiscriminate risk-taking downfield was finally exposed by a real

defense in Georgia's bowl game against Cincinnati with multiple throws directly to
safeties.

improved his accuracy. He has major arm talent,
but the simplistic Tar Heels offense is doing his
stock no favors.

Howell can really boom it. That's how he completed nearly 70% of his passes with
an average depth of target over 10.0.

ROLE… VERTICAL PASSER
Any offense Howell leads needs to consistently take advantage of his deep ball. He
can open up the entire field.

Howell still forces the issue too often when nothing is there. He could stand to
dump more RPOs when neither option is available.

dynamic element to Dan Mullen's offense that
wasn't there in 2020.

carries over the past two seasons. He's an add-on in the run game.

Jones is good at working in rhythm, but too often that leads to him not coming

Rattler's 92.9 passing grade when breaking the pocket was the highest in the
country last season, and he earned it on the fourth-most dropbacks (67).

Rattler is instant offense. He can create big plays when things are less than
perfect.

Rattler can be a playmaker to a fault. He passes up easy completions at times in

search of bigger plays.

“ A former three-star recruit, Slovis was an

afterthought as a true freshman with former five-
star J.T. Daniels on the team 2019. Daniels was

He had the most accurate true freshman
season we've ever graded. Sadly, he didn't
show much improvement during USC's COVID-
impacted 2020. He'll need a big leap in 2021 to
get back into the QB1 conversation.

Slovis won't go above and beyond the call of duty, but he has the accuracy and
pocket presence to win consistently in structure.
What He Can
IMPROVE… DECISION-MAKING
For his career, Slovis has more turnover-worthy plays than big-time throws.
He's still too often late into tight windows.

that he's a real quarterback prospect.

Strong has a bad habit of overreacting to slight pressure. He needs to master the

“ Willis started his career at Auburn in 2017 and

ultimately transferred to Liberty in 2019 after
losing the starting competition to Bo Nix. In his
first year as a starter, Willis was up and down as a
passer but utterly dynamic as a runner. He
went for over 1,000 yards to lead the FBS. He'll be
a Tier 1 rushing threat at quarterback from
Day 1 in the NFL.

Willis combines a running-back build with a jugs-machine arm. Whatever

plays you want to dream up, Willis can execute.
What’s His
ROLE… A WORTHY PROJECT
Willis has a lot to improve upon, but he has the kind of tools that make life a lot
easier on offensive coordinators.
What He Can
IMPROVE… CONSISTENT TECHNIQUE
A lot of Willis' accuracy and turnover problems are a byproduct of sloppy

technique. He throws from a very inconsistent base and completely breaks
form under pressure.

“ Lost in the Zach Wilson hoopla for BYU was the

fact that Allgeier was utterly dominant on the
ground in a breakout junior campaign. He
averaged under 5.0 yards per carry in only one of
his 11 games last season and finished with the
second-highest rushing grade in the
country. This year will be the real test for Allgeier,
as BYU replaced almost its entire starting
offensive line from 2020.

Allgeier has some explosiveness for a thicker back and knows how to use it. He
sticks his foot in the ground and doesn't mess around.
What’s His
ROLE… HEAVY RUSHING WORKLOAD
Allgeier is the type of back who wears down a defense. You don't want to see him
with a head of steam in the fourth quarter.
What He Can
IMPROVE… CREATIVITY
While we love Allgeier's running style, there comes times when a linebacker has
him squared up one on one and he doesn't have much to avoid a tackle.

“ Ealy is a dual-sport athlete who also stars on the

Ole Miss baseball team. His play style is where

slot and be a matchup nightmare for
linebackers.

Ealy is a jitterbug who is darn near impossible to pin down. He can go any
direction in the blink of an eye.
What’s His
ROLE… OFFENSIVE WEAPON
While he could easily just take 15 carries a game and call it a day, Ealy's talent
would flourish in a more versatile role.
What He Can
IMPROVE… WORKLOAD
Ealy has handled 20-plus carries in a game just once in his career. While that's not
a huge deal, it is exacerbated by the fact he's already undersized.

“ Hall has been such a weapon for the Cyclones

since stepping onto campus that he kept 2021
fourth-round running back Kenny Nwangwu on the
bench. He has similar tackle-breaking ability to
former Iowa State back David Montgomery, but
with a lot more explosion in the tank. There
isn't much Hall can't do.

One defender is not going to get the job done with Hall. He's too creative and
physical as a runner to tackle cleanly.
What’s His
ROLE… BELL COW
Hall has the size and all-around game to never come off the field if that's what a
team wants in its offense.
What He Can
IMPROVE… PASS-GAME USAGE
Hall can't control this one, but seeing him get more than swings and
checkdowns would help his stock. He lined up outside the backfield only 20 times
last season.

“ Knight may not be a household name yet, but he

tied for the highest broken tackle rate of any
returning Power Five running back last season.
That's no fluke, either, as he broke 33 tackles on
137 carries as a true freshman. He's a plus all-
around athlete for the position who could take
his game to the next level with some added
strength to his lower half.

at times, he still attacks creases with a purpose.

Knight has yet to prove he can handle a bell-cow workload. He has never had 20
carries in a game and dropped six of 32 career catchable targets.
What He Can
IMPROVE… RUNNING HIGH
There's not much to Knight's lower half, and that lack of power is exacerbated by a
high pad level that can get him stuck in his tracks on contact.

“ McCormick is right up there with Breece Hall for

the most productive returning running back
in the country over the past two years. McCormick
is a stoutly built speedster who's seen nearly
10% of his career rushing attempts go for 15-plus
yards. He doesn't have much of a chance to prove
himself against top competition in 2021, with
Illinois being the only Power Five school on the
schedule.

concepts he is asked to run at the next level.

feel it. His tape is littered with clean sticks on ball carriers.
What’s His
ROLE… SPLIT-FIELD OR BOX SAFETY
Brisker's ability to work top down and add-on in run support would be perfect for
a split-field defense (quarters, Cover-6, Cover-2).
What He Can
IMPROVE… RANGE
Brisker is no speedster. It's just something you have to live with. Asking him to
roam the middle of the field wouldn't play to his strengths.

sophomore in 2019 and earned quality coverage
grades in both years in a featured role. A
converted cornerback, Corker still would kick out

receivers. He has the feet of a corner but the
physical mentality of a safety.

Corker won't be confused for a playmaker, but he doesn't have many glaring
weaknesses. He makes the plays that need to be made.
What’s His
ROLE… BOX-SLOT SAFETY
Corker is at his best in underneath zone coverage. He's comfortable working

backward downfield in coverage.
What He Can
IMPROVE… ANGLES
Corker isn't a special athlete, which means he needs his attack angles to be
clean. Last year, he was rounding far too many lines to ball carriers.

versatile safety who can do damage around the
line of scrimmage.

Hamilton can get a little playmaker-happy. As a result, he has some blown

coverages on tape as well as overrun tackles.

Smith's tape is easy to like.

Smith can quite obviously stick in the slot, but with how strong he plays, there's
no reason to think he couldn't handle safety too.
What He Can
IMPROVE… VERSATILITY
We don't need to see anymore overhang to know he can play there. He's taken
only 29 snaps more than eight yards off the ball in his career.

“ Sterling has earned coverage grades in the

80s in both of his seasons as a starter. He's

decisive brand of football he plays, it's not
unreasonable to want him around the ball more.
His ability to drop over the slot will be his biggest
selling point for the NFL.
