    A ‘green’ building is a building that, in its design, construction or operation, reduces

    or eliminates negative impacts, and can create positive impacts, on our climate and
    natural environment. Green buildings preserve precious natural resources and
    improve our quality of life.

    There are a number of features which can make a building ‘green’. These include: 

     Efficient use of energy, water and other resources


     Use of renewable energy, such as solar energy
     Pollution and waste reduction measures, and the enabling of re-use and recycling
     Good indoor environmental air quality
     Use of materials that are non-toxic, ethical and sustainable
     Consideration of the environment in design, construction and operation
     Consideration of the quality of life of occupants in design, construction and operation
     A design that enables adaptation to a changing environment

    Any building can be a green building, whether it’s a home, an office, a school, a
    hospital, a community centre, or any other type of structure, provided it includes
    features listed above.

    LEED GOLD Certified
    The British Council Lahore Library has been constructed in an energy efficient
    design that saves 35% on water, air-conditioning and lighting. The premises
    relies mostly on natural light during the day, and has a green roof that
    contributes to the environment and minimizes heat. The building has been
    awarded LEED Gold Certification from United States Green Building Council –
    USGBC.
    2-LEED Silver Certified Corporate

    Karachi ,Pakistan
    During construction of the tower all necessary steps were followed to
    achieve silver LEED Certification. The LEED is a set of rating systems
    for design, construction, operation and maintenance of green buildings
    and neighbourhoods which has been developed by US GREEN building
    council to help building owners and operators be environmentally
    responsible and use resources/energy efficient resulting in cost saving
    and positive community impact as an example of this the building has
    been designed to minimize suns heating effect by maximizing the
    surface area of its façade on its northern side. Additionally mega
    corporate tower is designed with raised flooring and under floor air
    distribution system that results in efficient productivity of its HVAC
    system and improved ventilation /indoor air quality.
