DOWNHOLE TOOLS

Hydraulic Jar
The Hydraulic Jar is a straight pull-operated Jar which employs a patented
combination of proven principles of hydraulics and mechanics. This Jar is
unique in design and operation and is simple to assemble and easy to operate.

No setting or adjustment is required before going in the hole. This tool does
not interfere with the free operation of test tools, safety joints, reversing tools,
etc. The Hydraulic Jar is designed to permit the operator to easily and simply
control the intensity of the jarring action.

The unique impact control of the Hydraulic Jar is made possible by the
metering action of the piston assembly. As tension is applied to the Jar, fluid
is metered from one cavity to another through this piston assembly. By being
forced through a restricted passage, the fluid is retarded in such a manner that
the stroke is delayed until the operator has had ample time to adjust the
tension in the workstring to deliver a jarring action of desired impact.
