German infantry, grenadier, and panzer grenadier companies underwent organizational changes over time, with adjustments made to platoon and section structures as well as equipment.

From 1940-41, companies had 3-4 platoons of 3 squads each with support elements. By 1942-43, a mortar section was added. In 1944-45, LMG teams replaced some support elements. Heavy weapons companies included additional mortar and machine gun support.

Grenadier companies from 1944-45 had 3 platoons of 3 squads each with 2 LMGs in each squad. Panzer grenadier companies from 1939-42 had 3 squads per platoon with 2 LMGs each and an anti-tank rifle, supported by SdKfz 251 halftracks.

German Infantry Company 1940-41

3 or 4 platoons of 3 squads and one 50mm mortar


team each.
Anti-tank section of 3 anti-tank rifles.
Machine gun of medium tri-pod machineguns.
HQ is one additional squad.

German Infantry Company 1942-43

3 or 4 platoons of 3 squads each.


Mortar section of 3 50mm mortars
Anti-tank section of 3 anti-tank rifles
Machinegun section two tri-pod machineguns.
HQ is one additional squad.

German Infantry Company 1944-45

3 of 3 squads and one LMG team each.


Anti-tank section
Machinegun section two tri-pod machineguns.
HQ is one additional squad.

German Infantry Heavy Weapons Company

8cm mortar section


120mm mortar section
4 tri-pod machineguns.
HQ is one additional squad.
Grenadier Company 1944-1945
3 of 3 squads with two LMGs in each.
Anti-tank section
Two machinegun sections of 2 tri-pod machineguns.
One 8cm mortar section,
HQ is one rifle squad and one sub-machinegun
squad.

Panzer Grenadier Company 1939-1942


Each platoon contained 3 squads with 2 LMGs each
and one anti-tank rifle. Each platoon had four Sd
Kfz 251 halftracks. Three 251/1 and one 251/10
with a 37mm gun. A motorcycle may be included.
The heavy machinegun platoon contained 4 tri-pod
machineguns and two 251/1 halftracks.
A 251/1 was supplied to carry each 8cm mortar.
HQ is represented by a radio team and ATR team
and a 251/1 halftrack. A 251/17 AA halftrack may
be included. Later a 251/9 as well.

Panzer Grenadier Company 1943-1945


Each platoon contained 3 squads with 2 LMGs each
and one Panzerschreck. Each platoon had four Sd
Kfz 251 halftracks. Three 251/1 and one 251/17
with a 20mm AA weapon.
The heavy machinegun platoon contained 4 HMG
and two 251/1 halftracks.
A 251/1 was supplied to carry each 8cm mortar.
HQ is represented by a radio team and SpzR.54 team
and a 251/1 halftrack. A 251/17 AA halftrack or
two may be included.
At sometime two 251/9 with 75mm guns may be
attached.
Fallschirmjaeger Company 1943
3 platoons of 3 squads, LMG and PSK in each.
HQ is one SMG squad and one radio team.

Rifles squads can be replaced with SMG squads.


After mid ‘44 Rifle squads can be replaced with
MP44 squads.

Volksgrenadier Company 1944-1945


One rifle platoons of 3 squads.
Two sub-machinegun platoons of two SMG squads
and one rifle squad each.

For all rifle companies except volkstrum and


volksgrenadier
At start of scenario. On attack each platoon can generate one scout
team. Or, on defense each platoon can generate one sniper team.
