LITERATURE REVIEW:
When talking about 3D-Printing, the first thing that comes to mind is the additive process.
Additive Manufacturing (AM in short) or 3D-Printing is an advanced fabrication procedure
through which solid 3-dimensional objects can be crafted from a digital file. Generally, an object
is created by laying down successive layers of materials until the whole object is fabricated.
Simply, create a digital 3D model of an object using tinker cad based software or just download
the digital model from various free online resources and click “Print’’ just as you would for a
regular document file and watch your physical 3D model take shape right before your eyes.
There’s also a 3D scanner which can be used to copy digital models of existing objects. The
scanner puts the 3D digital copy of the object into a 3D modeling program. The software slices
up the final 3D model into hundreds or thousands of horizontal layers and uploads the prepared
file into the printer which later fabricates the object layer by layer. Reading every slice or 2D
image with acute precision, the printer blends each layer together leaving no trace of layering on
the object, resulting in a perfectly made 3D object. It is truly an incredible and surprisingly
simple to use technology that makes manufacturing functional on a fairly easy level of task [1].
3D-Printing varies a lot from its traditional manufacturing counterpart. It’s a radically different
manufacturing procedure that fabricates parts in layers additively at the sub mm scale. On the
other hand traditional manufacturing has a lot of limitations which has been widely based on
human labor, expensive tooling, fixtures and the need for assembly for complex parts. In
addition, the subtractive manufacturing processes such as machining can result in up to 90% of
the original block of material being wasted [2]. In contrast, 3D-Printing can do the exact same
manufacturing in shorter time, with almost no waste of materials and with greater efficiency. A
single printer can produce a vast range of products, sometimes already assembled. It’s a factory
without a factory floor. As mentioned in a journal in the Leading Edge Forum (LEF), “3D
printing changes the calculus of manufacturing by optimizing for batches of one.’’. It is simpler,
cheaper, smaller and more convenient to use than traditional manufacturing technology. It’s also
emerging to be an energy efficient technology that provides environmental efficiency in terms of
manufacturing process and utilizing up to 90% of standard materials. 3D-Printing encourages
And drives innovation with unprecedented design freedom while being a completely tool-less
process that harmoniously reduces prohibitive costs and lead times [3].
PROBLEM STATEMENT:
3D printer old V (1.0) was basic initial structure base project, it needs embedment for reliability.
OBJECTIVES:
This project is conducted to achieve the following objectives:
1. The goal of the 3D printer is to create a visual model to enhance the learning experience of the
content being delivered.
2. Rapid prototyping, simply enough, is any process that can be used to quickly create a prototype of a
part.
3. Enhance old version V(1.0) to modern feature and increase its reliability.
4. The 3D printer aims to facilitate learning by developing a technological advantage in various subject
matter.
METHODOLOGY:
Figure 1: Block diagram of 3D printer
Printer connected with pc or laptop for input data which transfer to the controller. Controller sees axis
and controls them and gives instruction further to give output as per we require in figure 1.
