    Dr. Bharat Suryawanshi, Assistant Controller of patent and Design, Rajiv Gandhi National
    Institute of Intellectual Property management, Nagpur as a Chief Guest during one day Workshop
    on ‘Intellectual Property Rights’ was organized by Ph.D. Cell, School of Engineering and Technology,
    GHRU, Saikheda on Oct. 31, 2020.

    The program was inaugurated with the introductory speech and welcoming of delegates by Dr.
    Padmanabh Gadge, Ph.D. Cell In-Charge and Coordinator of the workshop. Hon. Dr. Meena Rajesh
    madam, Vice Chancellor, GHRU also had dialogue with participants stressing importance of such
    workshops in general and this particular workshop on IPR. Dr. Suryawanshi further added that, “ Needs
    or problems faced by society is main source for developing innovative ideas or products which could be
    solutions for the problems and a person who develops such ideas can apply for its rights”. Dr.
    Suryawanshi has explained in detail the types of patents, patent laws and implementation, application
    procedure and requirements at various stages etc.

    Another speaker Dr. S.S. Khandare, Ex Principal, Bapurao Deshmukh College of Engineering,
    Sewagram, Wardha, gave the information about patent types as well as application procedure and
    details of patent framework. He has also guided on minor but important aspects while application for
    patents.

    One more guest speaker Dr. P.B. Maheshwary, Director, JD College of Engineering and
    Management, Nagpur has guided the participants about benefits of patents especially for academic
    institutes and recommended the various books like ‘Patents for Beginners’, ‘Patent Act 1970’ for the
    further knowledge about the patent procedures.

    All the delegates satisfactorily replied to the doubts asked by the participants and clarified the
    basic aspects about IPRs. The program was attended by all the faculties and students of all schools along
    with the authorities viz. Hon. Dr. Meena Rajesh, VC- GHRU, Prof. Shriram Joshi, Registrar- GHRU, Dr.
