    1. Clean the job site of combustible waste

    2. Wet down combustible floor surfaces

    3. Cover combustible floor surfaces with wet cloth

    4. Remove all combustible materials located within 10 m of the job site

    5. If any combustible materials within 10 m of the job site cannot be


    removed, protect them with non-combustible screens

    6. Place fire extinguishers on standby

    7. Check to ensure that all fire protection systems in the vicinity are
    switched “on” and detectors directly above the job site are covered to
    prevent false activation

    8. Check to ensure that there are no flammable liquids or gases in the


    area, and if so either remove them or protect them with non-combustible
    screen

    9. On completion of the hot work maintain a fire watch for 30 minutes
